Adaalat 14th July 2012 Written Update

A man stops his motorcycle on the midst of his way and moves towards another man standing at a distance. He comes close to him and then only the other person kills him using his gun.

KD enters his office and notices Varun is disturbed. He asks him the matter and Varun tells him that his friend Raman, who’s a private detective, is missing simce last night and his phone is out to reach. KD guesses he must be investigating for any case. Varun says that police found his bike but he was nowhere to be found.

Scene shifts to a place where boys are practicing wrestling under the supervision of their coach Janardan. Janardan’s son cheats and succeeds to defeat his competitor. Janardan notices this and slaps him. He declares that one must not cheat to win and scolds him. Two men and a woman arrive. One is Gaurav Sharma, owner of “Amateur wrestling federation”, his secretary Radhika and Jaspal, secretary of the federation.

Janardan comes forward to talk to them. Gaurav tells him that they are providing free training to boys in their federation and want him to be the head coach. Through their conversation it’s revealed that Janardan would have been the one to go to Olympics but his competitor Balveer cheated and went in place of him. Janardan gets angry recalling Balveer and accepts their offer.

In Gaurav’s office, Balveer enters and they argue on Janardan’s entry in the federation. Balveer storms out, enters his cabin and spots Janardan sitting there. Janardan tells him that now he isn’t the only owner of this cabin.

KD tells Varun that a scam related to the wrestling federation about which his friend Raman Swaroop was investigating has been published in the newspaper. It was published that the federation has taken a lot of money from school students taking advantage of Janardan and Balveer who are associated with the federation.

Jaspal argues with Gaurav as he wasn’t aware of the scam earlier. Gaurav tries to calm him down but Jaspal claims he knows everything about him and he won’t keep the entire amount alone. He storms out and Radhika follows him.

A man requests the receptionist for an appointment with Gaurav but she tells him that he’s busy and can’t meet anyone. Jaspal comes out and enters the lift, Radhika too comes after him. They both love each other and Radhika assures she won’t let Gaurav take the entire money alone.

The receptionist Helen gets a phone call from Jaspal and he calls her on the ground floor. She leaves her place and moves away. Janardan reads the scam news and gets hyper, Balveer notices his expressions. Janardan moves in Gaurav’s cabin and tells him he’s leaving right now. Gaurav claims he can’t leave before two years and he can stop him right now. His statement increases Janardan’s temper and he hits Gaurav thrice. After that, Gaurav is dropped down through the window.

Janardan’s son requests KD to rescue his father who got arrested in Gaurav’s murder case.

Court session begins and prosecutor Bharat begins his explanation accusing Janardan. Being wrongly accused, Janardan loses his cool and screams. Bharat claims his screams won’t change the truth and calls Balveer as his witness. Balveer and Janardan start arguing yet again. Balveer reveals that during their last match that was to select one among them for Olympic, he made a wrong move by mistake and Janardan hit his face even before the coach could react. So he got disqualified.

Bharat claims that Janardan can do anything as he has no control on his anger. Janardan screams at him all over again. Bharat asks Balveer to narrate a recent incident of Janadan’s anger. Balveer reveals that after reading the scam related to the federation, Janardan moved towards Gaurav’s cabin in anger and uttered he won’t leave Gaurav.

KD asks Balveer why he didn’t stop Janardan at that time. Balveer replies he didn’t wanted to keep any relation with Janardan. KD claims that he repeated his wrong act that he did 8 years ago. He further utters that even Balveer could throw Gaurav out of the window as he’s a silver medalist in the Olympics. Bharat interrupts and says that Balveer was on the ground floor with Jaspal at that time.

Jaspal comes in the witness box and confirms this. KD asks why he met him at the ground floor when his cabin isn’t there. Jaspal replies he and Radhika went to the ground floor due to some work and so he called Balveer there. KD then inquires did he see Janardan killing Gaurav to which Jaspal replies he didn’t see. KD doubts he would have killed Gaurav. Jaspal defends himself and says that Janardan was the last one to meet Gaurav. The man who had asked the receptionist for an appointment with Gaurav, comes and sits in the court.

Radhika is the next one to enter the witness box. She accuses Janardan. KD asks her wasn’t there anyone else on the floor at that time. Radhika replies that Helen was there.

Helen comes in the witness box and says she saw Janardan going inside Gaurav’s cabin. KD asks if she saw him coming out. She replies that Jaspal called her and asked to come on the ground floor. She was about to go and then only Janardan arrived. KD inquires why Jaspal had called her. Helen tells him that Jaspal wasn’t there on the ground floor when she reached there. She moved back again and saw everyone on the same floor. Gaurav was dropped down till then. She later asked Jaspal about the phone call and he rejected he called her. KD claims that someone made this entire plan to kill Gaurav and trap his client.

He further asks Helen if someone else was there on the floor. Helen tells him that a visitor was there who was coming to meet Gaurav since five days. She signals towards the visitor sitting in the court. The man comes in the witness box and he’s Dr. Raghunandan Kapadia. He reveals that he wanted to join the federation and so it was crucial to meet Gaurav. He saw Janardan coming out from Gaurav’s office in anger. He then entered the cabin and saw everything in a mess, the window was broken too. He got scared and went away.

Bharat gets up and declares Dr. Kapadia as the witness. He further says that Gaurav had fixed a spy camera in his office and plays its footage. The footage begins showing the argument between Janardan and Gaurav. Janardan hits Gaurav thrice and he faints. Later, Gaurav’s body was shown being dragged and a sound was produced of the window being crashed. The clock strikes five and session is over.

KD watches the footage and hears a voice of something like alarm when Gaurav’s body was being dragged. He replays that particular part. Varun arrives with the call list of the office. KD decides to go to Gaurav’s office. He checks the watch and fixes it back on the wall. Varun arrives with a register on visitors. KD checks that and wonders why Dr. Raghunandan wrote his Bangalore address. He asks him to go to Bangalore and find out about doctor. Varun gets a phone call and he gets to know that Raman’s dead body is discovered by the police. KD asks him to go to the police station first.

Dave tells Varun that Raman’s face has been disturbed badly and they recognized him through the identity card in his pocket. Varun checks Raman’s mobile phone records.
Later Varun visits Bangalore’s hospital in which Dr. Raghunandan Kapadia worked and inquires about him.

In the court, KD accuses Balveer on being the one to trap Janardan yet again. He reveals that Balveer was the one who revealed the scam and the newspaper editor himself admitted this. Balveer accepts and clarifies that he never wanted Janardan to be a part of the federation and so took this step thinking that he would leave immediately.
KD then calls Dr. Kapadia in the witness box. KD states three points, Dr. saw Janardan coming out of the cabin, he was trying to meet Gaurav since past three days and he called Helen as Jaspal. Dr. Kapadia rejects the third point of his. KD tells him that the caller ID has his number and so it’s clear he called Helen. Kapadia tells him he called her to meet Gauarv. KD notices his watch and admires that. He then asks him why he came here from Bangalore. Kapadia rejects his question and then KD reveals that he took help from a private detective. Kapadia doesn’t accept he did anything like this and KD tells him his colleagues said so. Kapadia declines he knows someone like Raman.

KD calls Jaspal and asks him does he know Raman or Dr. Kapadia. Jaspal replies he doesn’t know any of them. KD shows an eight year old photo in which they were together and even Gaurav was with them.
He calls Dr. Kapadia yet again. He fails to recognize Jaspal through the photo. KD asks why he was jailed eight years ago. Saying so, he claims that he had hired Raman to search Gaurav. Just a moment after, he reveals that Raman got killed by a 0.22 caliber revolver and that’s of Dr. Kapadia. Kapadia discards KD’s claims. KD further says he killed Gaurav too and notices the timing in his watch. It was 01:55 Pm. KD plays the video footage of Gaurav’s spy camera. As soon as Gaurav’s body is dragged, the sound produced from a wrist watch is heard. At the same time Dr. Kapadia’s wrist watch produces the same sound and he’s exposed.

Kapadia confesses that Gaurav had cheated him and eight years ago and so he went jail. His wife committed suicide due to this. He came out one year ago and decided to take revenge. So he hired a detective and killed him afterwards as he would have been a danger to him. He was looking for a chance to kill Gaurav and Janardan gave him that chance. He dragged Gaurav’s body and dropped it down. Kapadia admits he has no rejects as nothing is left in his life now.

Janardan is set free and he arrested. KD shakes hand with Bharat.
