Aamir Ali gets nostalgic about Woh Rehne Waali days, as he gets back as ‘Saumya’ in Jhilmil Sitaaron
Aamir Ali who portrayed the lovable character of Saumya in Rajshri Productions and Sahara One’s Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki is back with the same name in Jhilmil Sitaaraon Ka Aangan Hoga.
Talking about the nostalgic moments of playing Saumya in the heralded show Woh Rehne Waali, Aamir Ali tells us, “Saumya is a character that nobody can forget. And the character I play in Jhilmil is actually an extension of Saumya of Woh Rehne Waali. The guy is a typical example of how the then Saumya will react to situations four years later.”
An interesting fact here is that, the character in Jhilmil Sitaaraon Ka Aangan Hoga had a different screen name initially. However, when Sooraj Barjatya and Aamir Ali sat down to discuss the character, they came to a consensus that the guy should be given the name of Saumya. Our source here, said that Aamir was too keen on getting the name of Saumya as he is quite emotional about the name and his character in Woh Rehne Waali.
On asked about his emotional connect with the screen name, Aamir Ali states, “As I said, this character is so much like Saumya. He is the ‘adarshwadi’ son, brother and husband. The only difference that the then Saumya and this new Saumya seem to have is in the way of dressing. While the protagonist of Woh Rehne Waali used to be seen in casual dresses, this guy is well suited and booted. Having said this, I am an instinctive actor and I would think of giving my own inputs to the character as and when the situation and story line demands.”
Aamir Ali who is happy to get associated with Sahara and Rajshri Productions says, “Till date, my best shows have been with Sahara One and SAB TV. I am an actor, and my work is to do my best. I do not worry about TRPs. As for Jhilmil Sitaaraon Ka, I am very much impressed with the story line that Soorajji narrated to me. The characters are so very well-etched that people will fall in love with them. I already miss working with Kavita Barjatya (she has taken a break from television as of now) and it is Soorajji who is creatively involved these days. I am looking forward to my next big association with them (smiles).”
Aamir Ali who essays the modern day Ram in Jhilmil, enters tonight (20 February 2013). Saumya has lost his first wife, and Angana (Shriya Jha) has lost her husband Akaash (Pankaj Tiwari). This is when both their families decide to meet at a common place so that Saumya and Angana get to know themselves and agree to marry each other… And this is how their love story starts.
