Fenil Umrigar QUITS Zee TV’s Kaala Teeka

Shocking news for Zee TV’s Kaala Teeka (DJ’s A Creative Unit) fans.

The show is seeing a casting exodus, much to the chagrin of the maker.

First, antagonist Bhupinder Singh (Vishwaveer) took the exit route. And now we hear his on screen daughter Gauri has also bid adieu to the project.

Fenil, who is seen as Gauri, as per sources, hit resentment for her unsatisfactory character progression and put down her papers day before yesterday (13 September).

She has notified the production house, channel and CINTAA (Cine and TV Artiste Association).

“Fenil was not willing to play an out-an-out negative character. She is currently serving her notice period, which is till mid of December (2016). However, if the creatives decide to keep Gauri’s intentions positive, she may flip her decision and continue. Let’s wait and watch,” shared an industry source.

We reached out to Fenil and producer Tony Singh but they both did not comment till the time of filing the article.

The daily also features popular faces Simran Pareenja and Rohan Gandotra as leads.

In recent times, actors across Zee shows have chosen to opt out.

Nia Sharma from Jamai Raja, Sidhant Gupta from Tashan-e-Ishq, Drashti Dhami and Siddharth Karnick from Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani all moved out of their respective projects.
