Utkarsha Naik’s entry to bring in ‘saas-bahu’ angle in Saathiya
Star Plus’ long-running show Saath Nibhana Saathiya (Rashmi Sharma Productions) will see another big entry!!
And that will be of seasoned actor, Utkarsha Naik who comes in with oodles of experience.
Yes, and she has been roped in to play mother to Krishna (Khalid Siddiqui), the new man in Gopi’s (Devoleena Bhattacharjee) life.
As we know, the evil side of Krishna will soon get exposed, and it will also be revealed that he is the brother of Mansi (Kajal Pisal). The return of Kajal to Saathiya has already been reported exclusively by us.
We hear that the channel and makers wanted to add in the spice of ‘saas-bahu’ drama. And now, with the entry of Utkarsha, she will create a storm in the life of Gopi.
As per sources, “Utkarsha will play a typical Punjabi lady, with lot of attitude and style. The character will believe quite a lot in superstitions, and will make Gopi’s life a living hell. She will have a grey character to begin with, but will turn out to be completely evil with the story progression.”
Also, with the entry of the Punjabi character, Saathiya will provide a new flavour in terms of culture and traditions.
When contacted, Utkarsha confirmed the news to us saying, “Yes, I will be entering Saathiya. I am starting my shoot from tomorrow, and I will play Krishna’s mother.”
We tried buzzing the channel spokesperson, and also Producer Rashmi Sharma, but they remained unavailable for comments.
Utkarsha who is known to carry a specific dressing style in her shows, will show her ‘jhatkas’ and ‘matkas’ in her suited Punjabi attire.
We hear that post the introduction of Krishna’s mother, Mansi will also get in, to pose bigger problems to Gopi.
Recently, Vandana Pathak, another experienced actor won laurels for her powerful antagonistic character of Gaura. Only time will tell whether the entry of Utkarsha will raise the bars for the show yet again…
