SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta to complete 1900 episodes

In a time when shows go off in a jiffy, here is one that has gained momentum all along. SAB TV’s longest runny comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is on a celebration mood.

Why?

Well the popular series will soon complete 1900 episodes.

Talking on the same, the creative advisor and producer Asit Kumarr Modi shared, “This kind of love brings in huge responsibilities. 1900 episodes for a daily comedy serial is unheard of in India or abroad. I can never sit back and relax because of the audience’s expectations. Churning out different tracks and maintaining the interest of the audience is a challenge that we are now addicted to. Slowly our fan base has increased and evolved. We get feedback from across the country and cultures.”

TMKOC connects equally well with the youth and old alike because of its clean entertaining values and subtle social message. “This is a fact. Everybody I have met till date has said that Taarak Mehta show is the best family entertainer. I am so happy that we are touching 1900 mark. Even today every track we do, is fresh. No story has been repeated. I go for a shoot and feel as if I have come to my second family. I pray that it never ends,” comments Disha Vakani.

Gurucharan adds, “It’s the Balle Balle time. 1900 episodes is so difficult. Specially more so because comedy is very difficult genre when you don’t have help from cheap below the belt jokes.”
