I am happy to be playing the diverse role of Sangram to perfection – Amal Sehrawat

Amal Sehrawat, who played the well-appreciated character of TK in the movie Satya 2 is having a jolly time playing the ‘baddie’ Sangram in Star Plus’ popular show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Director’s Kut Productions).

Talking about the great response that he has garnered on the show, the actor said, “It feels good to be seen on the TV screen. TV is a huge medium in today’s time, and the fact that you get to know whether you are doing a good job or not in pretty quick time is the biggest advantage of the TV medium. From the time I have entered Yeh Rishta, people have been appreciating my acting and this makes me happy.”

Amal is a very passionate and soft-spoken person in real life. But his character demands him to the exact opposite of his real self. “Yes, there have been sequences where I have had to get to my aggressive best. That is so not me in real life. But life is a big teacher, and I have learnt a lot with every exposure that I have got. The Yeh Rishta journey is also a learning curve. There are times when you have to make use of the pent up feelings within you to get to the emotional and aggressive best onscreen. I am happy that I am playing this diverse role to perfection.”

For Amal, working with the experienced cast of Yeh Rishta is the icing on the cake. “There is so much to learn from Alok Nathji. Playing his grand son and having majority of my scenes with him is indeed a blessing. He is so down-to-earth, warm and always ready to teach and help anyone. Overall, working with the entire cast and crew of Directors Kut has been a great experience. We work like a family.”

Now that Amal has tasted success on the small screen, he feels he is ready to explore himself as an actor and take up diverse and challenging roles.
