I have found a father figure in Ram Kapoor: Mahima Makwana
Unlike her previous shows, Mahima Makwana looks and behaves her age on Sony Entertainment Television’s Dil Ki Baatein…Dil Hi Jaane (Guroudev Bhalla and Dhaval Gada). Looking a million bucks, with her short hair and contagious smile, the young girl spoke about her show and character in a quick chat with us.
“Disha is a very confident, bubbly young girl and her father’s ladli. She is innocent, yet has a maturity to not only handle herself but her dad too, after her mother’s death. She is a today’s girl and very real and relatable,” shared the young actor.
Getting to share screen space with popular faces like Ram Kapoor and Gurdeep Kohli makes Mahima feel lucky, she said, “These people are legends in their own space and it is a blessing that I got to work with them at such an early stage of my career. Also, with Mahesh Bhatt helming the project, I don’t think I could have asked for more.”
Not many would know that the talented child lost her father when she was just few months old. “I never got to know my dad and this show, which is based on a father-daughter relationship, will give me the opportunity to know about this bonding. I am really looking forward to understanding and feeling how special this bond is. For me my mother is my dad and mom both and I would always be thankful to her for having brought us up so wonderfully single-handedly.”
The girl also spoke highly of Ram, “People had initially scared me about Ram sir, so I was really nervous. But when I met him, he was really sweet and friendly. Since I get dimples, he told me he will call me Dimple and he does that even today. He is very supporting and seeing him perform, you want to improve your performance too.”
The show is apparently a remake of Mahesh Bhatt’s Daddy but Mahima hasn’t yet got a chance to catch the film, “My producers made it clear that I shouldn’t watch the film lest I imbibe its feel. They wanted me to understand the character and perform it naturally. I hope I am able to live up to their expectations.”
We are sure you will, Mahima!!
