My parents feel very proud to see me on-screen – Shruti Sharma
Actress Shruti Sharma has been carrying out the role of Shabnam, the ‘nagging’ neighbour of Imran (Hassan Zaidi) very well in Sony PAL’s Tum Saath Ho Jab Apne (Sphere Origins).
Shabnam is seen impressing her neighbour with all kinds of eateries, be it paranthe, malai kofta etc, or taking care of him when ill. This nosey attitude of Shabnam has been acknowledged very well by viewers, and her light-hearted track with Imran has been appreciated.
Talking about it, Shruti says, “It’s been a pleasure being part of this show. I have shot for some hilarious sequences with Hassan. He is very genuine, co-operative and makes me comfortable on the sets. Shabnam though is elder when compared to Imran, has fallen for him and wants to impress him at all cost. She pokes her nose into his life always, and this makes the man very uncomfortable.”
Shruti who is from the small town of Mathura, went through a lot of hurdles in convincing her parents for her acting career. “My father wanted me to become a doctor, but my passion was towards acting. I want to become the face of television, by doing noteworthy roles. Today, after being in the industry for some time, my parents feel very happy to see me on screen. Whenever my show comes on air, my father feels the proudest. I get a celebrity welcome when I go to Mathura as the whole neighbourhood comes to take photographs with me.”
Shruti has been part of shows likes Tere Mere Sapne, Hum Aapke Hai In-Laws, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, Saraswatichandra, Balika Vadhu. She has done episodics in Savdhan India and Adaalat.
The actress has a penchant for dancing too and specializes in folk and classical dance. She has performed in many live shows. But as of now, dance has taken a back seat, as she wants to concentrate on her acting career.
Shruti, we wish you luck!!
