Dil Dostii Dance fame Samentha Fernandes and new face Nikhil Khurana to feature in Yeh Hai Aashiqui
It was a reunion of sorts for the Dil Dostii Dance team recently on the sets of Yeh Hai Aashiqui, the popular Disney Bindass show. The reason being Samentha Fernandes who essays the role of Simmi in Dil Dostii Dance was roped in to play the central role in the episodic, produced by BBC Worldwide Productions.
Samentha was paired opposite new face Nikhil Khurana in the story. The story will be about a tomboyish girl Sunaina, played by Samentha who would fall for her bestest friend Varun (Nikhil), but would wait for him to realize his love for her. The story would also send across a message that even though a girl is a tomboy by appearance, she still has the heart of a girl and would long to be loved by the man she loves.
The story will also have Priyanka Soni who played the character of Rinni in Dil Dosti Dance. She will be seen essaying the character of Ritu who happens to be the closest friend of Sunaina.
When contacted, Samentha told us, “It was a great experience to work again with Palki (Malhotra, Creative Producer, BBC Worldwide Productions who was earlier associated with Dil Dosti Dance). She has taught us the basics of acting, and it was wonderful to be part of Yeh Hai Aashiqui. Priyanka Soni who happened to be part of the girl gang in D3 is also part of the story. So it was fun working with her again. In fact, we had a confusion of sorts in our very first sequence wherein we called each other as Rinni and Simmi. It was very funny as we realized that we were calling each other by the wrong names. The confusion happened because Simmi starts with ‘S’ and so does Sunaina, and Rinni starts with ‘R’ and Ritu too (laughs). Overall, it was fun and the character was very challenging. I portray a complete tomboy here, a girl who would not even care to think twice before arm-wrestling, jumping in a pool of water etc. This was challenging as Sunaina is a complete contrast to what Simmi was in D3.”
We tried calling Nikhil but could not get through to him.
Catch this story on air on 7 September (Sunday).
