I don’t harbour aspirations to do only lead roles in films – Aamir Dalvi
Time and again, the good looking and talented Aamir Dalvi, who is seen punching and kicking enemies in Life OK’s Shapath (Fireworks Productions), has proved his acting capabilities. The guy who plays a thief turned cop has been a part of the show for two years now.
When we asked him whether he doesn’t feel ‘being stuck’ in the character, the guy smiled, “Not really, for the story changes every week and thus, it’s quite refreshing. The genre of cop stories gives a chance to have fun fighting different villains every day. Fortunately, I feel lucky that we don’t have to do boring routine drama or over do our emotions. It’s all very natural and real.”
Earlier Aamir’s character used to take the garb of various characters to solve his cases. Although his fun personality has been retained, the disguises are no more seen. Talking on the same he quipped, “Of course, I miss those days a lot. The ‘khujli’ of acting was happily satisfied earlier. The entertainment part is terribly missed (chuckles).”
When we spoke to him about lesser chances of romancing on screen in such shows, Aamir averred, “Yes, unlike daily shows romance and associated elements are not there. There is a vast field of acting involved and I am still learning the nuances. And as they say if you don’t sharpen your weapons it gets blunt; so I will have to see how I will sail in those seas once again.”
And finally when we asked the handsome man, who has done a Bollywood flick (Dilli Gang), about his movie dreams he said, “The film could not do well, but I am quite an optimistic person. So such things don’t affect me much. I am open to doing good characters on the big screen and don’t harbour aspirations to do only lead roles. In TV, people know my capabilities and offer me good characters, but in films I become a newcomer who has to start from the scratch.”
That’s rightly put, Aamir!
