Vicky Arora – the ultimate stuntman of Life OK’s Shapath
Bollywood industry embraced stunts a few decades back and at present the pretty damsels who would usually cry for help are ever-ready to carry out the best of stunt sequences in Hindi movies, the best examples being Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, Rani Mukerji or Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
But this is just a growing trend in the TV industry and Life OK’s Shapath has taken the onus of performing as many stunts as they can in their Supercops Vs Supervillains series.
The action drama promises to give the audiences the right dose of some stuntbaazi.
We recently got into a conversation with Vicky Arora the man who choreographed and also performed most of these stunts. Vicky who is also an actor will be seen as one of the Ninjas on the show.
Talking about his association with Shapath he averred, “Allan Amin the action director on this show is the one who recommended my name to the channel and I was roped in. I have choreographed most of the fight sequences and also the stunts on this show. And I can assure you that you’ve never seen such action on Indian television before.”
You had two jobs on this show. How did you manage to balance? “I actually acted, choreographed and even trained the actors for most of the action sequences; so it wasn’t easy. I also had to do most of the stunts on my own for the actors weren’t trained to do the stunts.”
Which has been the wildest stunt for you on this show? “There were actually two. The first one was leaping on one tree from the other at a 70 feet distance with the help of a harness. The next was diving from the cliff with the help of cables. In the second stunt I had almost banged by head against the rock but I luckily got saved.”
Vicky has earlier choreographed stunts for Shootout at Wadala, Rangrezz and a few episodes of Anil Kapoor’s 24.
Way to go, Vicky!!
