Family time for Arav and Arpit on the sets of Star Plus’ Mahabharat

The magnum opus show Mahabharat (Swastik Productions) on Star Plus recently completed 200 episodes and the set was brimming with happiness with the cast and crew coming together for a small party.

And joining the team was the family of two fabulous actors on the show, Arav Chowdharry and Arpit Ranka, who play Bheesm and Duryodhan respectively on the show.

Talking on the same Arav shares, “My family does visit me often on the sets as we hardly get time to spend together. My wife has always accompanied me to all my sets from Ladakh (Lakshya) to Goa (Dhoom), and now that my son is in school they visit me whenever he has an off. The creative head of the show had put the thought on my son’s mind that his dad plays the kings of king in the show, and he keeps on repeating the same lines. It’s definitely sweet moment for me to have my family by my side.”

Even though Arav has his family visiting often, it was the first time for Arpit’s family to be on the set. “It was such a special moment for me with my family coming on my shoot for the very first time. You won’t believe my mom was in tears when she saw me performing in front of the camera. They were proud of my achievement and seeing them happy I was on top of the world. And although for the world Duryodhan is a villain, for my family there is no one as nice as him (laughs).”

The family also took part in an impromptu cake cutting ceremony that the cast organised on the sets.
