Swati Anand replaces Samiksha Bhatnagar in Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya; Anurag Sharma to play her husband
Balaji Telefilms’ Kumkum Bhagya, on Zee TV will see a major replacement very soon. Actress Samiksha Bhatnagar of Veera fame who was essaying the role of Mitali, Abhi’s sister-in-law on the show will soon be replaced.
The reason for replacement, as per sources is that Ekta found the actor not fitting well into the role.
And now, making her entry into the thick of things will be noted Balaji actor, Swati Anand. As we know, Swati had carried the character of Manjusha in Pavitra Rishta to the best of her abilities. Also, entering as Mitali’s husband and cousin brother to Abhi (Shabbir Ahluwalia) will be Anurag Sharma, yet another Balaji loyalist. This particular character has not been shown yet.
Anurag is presently part of Balaji’s Star Plus show, Ye Hai Mohabbatein.
When contacted, Anurag confirmed the news stating, “Yes, talks were on for few days now. And I got a call of confirmation yesterday from them. All I know is that I will play the brother of Shabbir. I will get a detailed briefing only when I start my shoot.”
As per sources, Anurag’s character will be positive, but will have a selfish mindset.
Samiksha who has been essaying the character of the negative-minded Mitali said, “I have put down my papers already last month, and I am presently serving a notice period.”
Ask her about the reason for deciding to move on, she said, “I have already served my notice period for the show Kumkum Bhagya. I decided to disengage from the show as the role was not developing as I was briefed. However it was a wonderful experience working with the KKB team. Regarding replacement I haven’t heard so far and I am still shooting till my last day as per notice period.”
When asked about being replaced owing to Ekta’s call, the actress refused to comment.
We tried calling Swati Anand, but she asked us to call later. Swati is presently seen in Colors’ Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon.
