Pooran Kiri is enjoying his character graph in Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

Actor Pooran Kiri’s character of Suresh Agarwal in Star Plus’ long-running show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Director’s Kut) has been going great guns with the man’s wickedness coming to the fore. The character who happens to be the first husband of Devyani (Kshitee Jog) started off as a rather silent character whose truth of ill-treating his wife had not been revealed.

Pooran, who has starred in movies like Satya 2 and Hate Story 2, is enjoying his character graph in Yeh Rishta. Says the man, “When I entered, I was shown to be a very affectionate father who wanted to get the loves of his kids. Never was a hint given that he had earlier tortured his wife, and that was the reason for her to leave him. But now, the truth is out. The man’s negativity is seen in every scene. The track in the coming days will get all the more interesting with Suresh playing a game to bring back his son and daughter to his side.”

The actor who was recently seen in Life OK’s The Adventures of Hatim simply enjoys the work atmosphere offered on the sets of Yeh Rishta. “The entire team is great. It is a pleasure working with the production house and Star Plus. In my earlier shows, I have been offered out and out negative roles. But with Yeh Rishta, I got to portray various shades, and it took time for the audience to gauge the man’s real nature.”

Pooran enjoys a great off-screen camaraderie with his on-screen kids Anshul Pandey (Naman) and Zarina Roshan Khan (Muskaan). “We share a very good rapport, and we hit it well from the very first scene,” shares the actor.

In addition to being part of the long-running Yeh Rishta, Pooran looks forward to be seen in yet another challenging role in Sony Entertainment Television’s upcoming show titled Boss, which would mark the debut of Amitabh Bachchan into fiction on TV.

“Yes, it is true that I am part of the show. I play a cop in it. However, I would not like to talk about the show at the moment. I am busy shooting for it as of now.”

Pooran, we wish you all the luck for your future endeavours.
