I was frustrated with the delayed launch of Mahabharat: Vin ‘Nakul’ Rana
Seeing this sexy young guy, no soul would have ever believed that he could have pulled off a mythological character. Well, we are talking about Vin Rana who plays the youngest Pandav Nakul in Star Plus’ Mahabharat (Swastik Productions).
Having doing wonderfully well in his modelling profession, Vin was in for a surprise when he got an offer for this show. “I had no background in acting and then mouthing all these hard core Hindi words gave me loads of worries. I did not even know the stories of Mahabharat in detail, but with such a big channel and production house coming up with such an ambitious project, I decided to jump on it.”
But then came a big shocker with the project getting delayed for a long time. Vin who had sacrificed a plump offer from a New York based modelling agency was left shattered with this loss. “Honestly speaking, I started regretting my decision as I not only lost out on the modeling opportunity, but I also had left my business back home; I was completely frustrated and wanted to go back home. But my co-stars supported me and asked me to be patient, and finally the wait paid off.”
With time, started a journey of workshops and training where the young boy got to learn a lot. “Initially I was very nervous, but soon I got the hang of it. From dialogue delivery to action sequences, we mastered the art and were ready to shoot. Thankfully people accepted us with open hearts and today each character has gained a lot of popularity.”
With the shoot being away from city, we wondered whether Vin felt homesick. “I miss my family a lot. I haven’t stayed away from home, so it has been really difficult but my family is proud of me and I’m happy too for all that I have managed to do in this time frame. But yes, after we wrap up, I am surely taking a long holiday.”
So what kind of roles interested this young lad, we asked. “I would like to do some action packed films on the lines of Dhoom or a cute innocent romantic film like Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani. Also a stylish villainous character would really interest me in the coming days. As for TV, I am surely open to something interesting.”
In conclusion, Vin thanked his fans for their support and added, “I am really glad that people have accepted new talent and judged us only for our performance. And not just Indian audience, but we get messages from worldwide and it’s a pleasure to interact with all of them. Although I cannot reply to every message, I would take this opportunity to thank all of you and hope that you people continue showering your love to us.”
Way to go, Vin Rana.
