Sony TV’s Encounter to launch on 11 April; Rajesh, Promod, Aditya, Parag and Adaa to feature…

A few days back we had exclusively reported about Sony Entertainment Television coming up with a new episodic show titled Encounter. And here we are back with some more information on the same.

As informed the show will be based on police encounters in the city of Mumbai and hosted by Manoj Bajpayee is being produced by Endemol India.

The show will launch on 11 April, airing every Friday-Sunday at 9pm for an hour. The mini-series will replace Boogie Woogie on weekends and will also take away a day’s airing (Friday) from Nandini and Jee Le Zara which airs at 9pm and 9:30pm respectively.

And the first episode of this much anticipated show is going to feature some popular faces from the TV and Bollywood world.

Informs a source, “The first case will interestingly deal with the much talked about encounter of gangster Manya Surve and will be presented in three episodes.”

And talented actor Rajesh Shringarpure will essay the character of the criminal which was recently played by John Abharam in Shootout at Wadala, the big screen outing of the same case. Playing Rajesh’s lady love will be the beautiful Adaa Khan (Amrit Manthan).

And if the story will have villains, there has to be police officers to hunt them down. Here, playing the ACP in charge of the encounters will be actor Pramod Moutho who is known for his negative roles in films like Khalnayak, Dilwale, Shikari, Gadar among many others.

Giving him support will be good looking and beefy actors Aditya Redij (Junoon) and Parag Tyagi (Pavitra Rishta).

“Aditya will play a calm and composed cop while Parag will be seen as the aggressive one,” adds the source.

To get more information on the same, we called Parag who confirms, “Yes, I am doing the show but can’t reveal any details yet.”

Echoes Adaa, “I am part of this show that is based on real life encounters but I would not like to give up the plot.”

We tried calling Rajesh, Aditya and Pramod but they remained unavailable for comment.

We also dropped a text message to Endemol Head, Deepak Dhar but did not get a revert till the time of filing this story.
