My fans aren’t very happy with my saris in Madhubala: Deepshikha Nagpal
Deepshikha Nagpal is back on the small screen with Colors’ Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon as Pam. And while the actress is enjoying her stint her fans are not so happy with her simple avatar.
“That’s one complaint that I have been getting from most of my fans. They are just not happy with my saris. They want me to wear glamorous saris,” confessed the star.
So has she informed her stylist about the same? “Well I am planning to talk to my team and my stylist. I personally feel that viewers like following the style that we carry on-screen in real life. That is why we put that extra bit to make it look glamorous. I remember Amisha Patel’s mother once told me that she used to save my images from my previous shows, for she liked the pattern of blouses I wore.”
Moving a bit away from the saris we asked her about her character on the show and she said, “I have never played such an out-and-out negative character ever. My previous characters always had a reason to do bad things to others but this one is simply a b****. She is doing all the planning and plotting for money. But I am enjoying it for I’ve never played such a role before and I can never behave like this off-screen. So I put in my best on-screen (laughs).”
Though Deepshikha is playing a negative role the project has brought in a lot of positivity in her life. “I am in a very happy mode these days, for the entire Madhubala team is amazing. Moreover, most of the people on this show were a part of my show Dahhej; so I know everyone. In fact, I’ve also created a group called ‘Kapoor Khandan’ on which we all keep chatting the entire day. Trust me I don’t even realise that we are working for 12 hours.”
There was this buzz about Deepshikha’s husband Keshav Arora being finalised for the role of her son Abhay Kapoor in the show. Hence, we asked the beautiful lady if it was true and also if she would have backed out had he taken up the role to which she stated, “Keshav was shortlisted, not finalised! So when I was offered Madhubala he wasn’t in the picture. But had he been finalised I would have taken up some other role. I wouldn’t have played his mother for sure.”
She also went on to narrate a funny incident. “I and Keshav were at the Colors party recently and someone came up to us and addressed Keshav as Gunjan (Utreja currently seen as AK). Now that’s the kind of effect that this rumour of him playing my son on-screen has had on people (laughs),” said she.
Keep up the good work lady!
