Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai crosses 1300 episodes

Seems like Star Plus is on a roll, with most of its popular shows reaching a landmark yesterday. After Saraswatichandra and Diya Aur Baati Hum, it’s now time for the team of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Directors Kut) to get into a celebration mood.

And it’s not just a few centuries but a magnificent 1300 episodes that the show has managed to complete. This extravagant feat was completed by the show yesterday (28 November).

The show, that embarks on a journey of arranged marriage and the real life problems of any couple, received utmost love and support from its viewers. The lead of the show Naitik (Karan Mehra) and Akshara (Hina Khan) have become a household name today.

Set in the backdrop of Rajasthan, the show has been running for five long years and has managed to bag almost all prestigious TV awards in this time period.

Directed by the talented Rajan Shahi, who has given the industry some wonderful shows like Bidaai, Amrit Manthan and Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, he has really struck gold with this show and we hope this serial continues to entertain its audience like always for a long time to come.

We tried calling Karan and Rajan Shahi but they remained unavailable for comment. Hina, on the other hand, was out of city and asked us to call later.
