“I believe that every show has its own destiny”
Says the producer JD Majethia of the show Bh Se Bhade, who finds the idea of coming up with the seasons of the shows very interesting.
JD Majethia popularly known as Himnashu from the show Khichdi is also a well-known producer in this industry. Having produced shows like Khichdi, Instant Khichdi, Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, Baa Bahu Aur Baby under Hats Off productions banner is ready to make audience laugh once again with the comedy show Bh Se Bhade on Zee TV. JD’s shows have always been message driven shows along with a dose of laughter.
So to know more about the same we got in touch with the producer JD Majethia who talks about the show’s concept of his show Bh Se Bhade, challenges he faced while making the show and much more.
Here it is what JD says about his show Bh Se Bhade…
What made you come up with the show Bh Se Bhade? What inspired you to make this show?
We were inspired by the stories written by the famous Marathi writer Va Pu Kale, so we have taken that philosophy from his books as we really liked it. Also we have kept in mind that he should get his credits as we believe that Jinka creation ho unko hi credit milna chahiye’. But we have added different elements too in the show; it is not all the very much same like the stories exists in the book. Like for example – The laughter of Mr. Bhade is something that is unique, also the dialect of Suchita is very interesting. The office of Atul Parchure who plays the character of a Boss in the show is also created differently, there was no office sequence mentioned in the book. They all are real characters and people can easily connect with them. So there are a lot of new things that we have created and portrayed in the show.
How difficult is it to take a concept from a literature book and make it into a show?
I feel that if you are taking something from the Literature books, then a producer, writer and director should be able to do proper justice to their writings and creation. This also goes same with the people who take the copyrights of the show and make another show. Like is somebody takes the copyrights of our show Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai, and they are not being able to do justice to the show then we also might not like it and so will the audience not like it too. So these are the factors we should always keep in mind while making a show.
Are you happy with the fact that your show is being aired on a weekend, despite the fact that your show will be also in a contingency to compete with the other shows at that time?
I am very happy that my show is aired on weekend. I feel that this show should go on air on a weekend only, as I don’t think that the audience would like to see a light hearted show on weekdays. It is a light hearted comedy show and people prefer such shows on a Sunday, so I think it is the best show for the weekend. There are competitions for us on weekends too but that is all fine. I believe that every show has its own destiny and every show creates its own audience.
According to you what are the challenges you have to face while making a comedy show?
Every moment is very difficult for us to make a comedy show. There is a lot that goes into making a comedy show. You need the right execution of the storyline, as if any mistakes happen then it won’t give the right outcome. Some simple sequence too take a long time while shooting as there has to be right execution to that sequence, the punch should have its proper timing and so should it connect with the audience.
Do you like the concept of coming up with Seasons for the show?
I feel that coming up with seasons for the show is a great idea. It gives time to think and we can come up with fresh and creative ideas. This stressful life and hectic schedules of the show might hamper the show’s story and thus it makes show’s storyline monotonous. So coming up with seasons of the shows is always interesting and innovative too. Also it is a great help for the actors too, as they get some much needed time in between. Audience also likes variety in the show so we will come up with seasons for Bh Se Bhade.
