Episode starts out with Lajjo’s mom shouting at her for messing up the scooter. Then Lajjo’s father-in-law comes and her mother is worried if he brought another list. The FIL says that his son is of city status and wants to invite some big guests to the wedding, and so asks for Lajjo’s parents for more lavish wedding preparations that would cost Rs. 80,000 (not sure about the number). Lajjo’s parent tries to tell him talk him down from that price, but the FIL starts walking away breaking the wedding. But the FIL says, that they need to send the money by tomorrow or else, there will be no wedding. Lajjo is listening to the entire conversation and looks sad and worries.
On the other hand, Nikhil and his friends are enjoying in his grandparent’s house and the bua says that she is sad that they are all leaving tomorrow. One of the friends says that she will come back to visit and the bua mumbles that no one ever comes back! Nikhil comes and asks them for suggestions for a gift for Ishana. The friends give him stupid suggestions, so Nikhil is about to leave. Nikhil then asks the bua to take something that Ishana will keep close to her heart, but not something that she will get upset over.
Nikhil is shown driving and there are trees on the path and he stops down to remove them from the path. He hears Lajjo crying and her friends placating her. He looks worried and asks her friends. The younger sister tells him the reason about the money and Lajjo gets upset and leaves from there, while Nikhil looks on worriedly.
Lajjo’s parents are worried and discussing the issue. The father says that the in-laws are very greedy and it would be best to just break the alliance because their greed will only keep increasing, even after the wedding. The mother asks him if he’s lost his mind, as they have already spent so much on the wedding! She also tells him to think about how society will view it and how bad it would be for society. She then curses the day that they had three daughters. They keep arguing, and the father argues for the importance of daughters. [it is really meaningful, and I can’t quite translate the entirety of the awesome dialogues!]
On the other hand, Nikhil comes back home and his friends try to convince him that they should buy a gift from Delhi. They are citing a lot of high price items and Nikhil just looks on with a smile. They all reminisce about their adventures and Nikhil thinks of Lajjo. He walks away and his smart female friend asks him what’s wrong. He gets a call from Ishana and walks away to talk to her. She asks him why he sounds so depressed and he says he is returning tomorrow. Ishana asks who is in trouble because he is never worried for himself, only for others. She then tells him to relax and take a deep breath and calm down. He does and is happy.
The next morning, at Lajjo’s house, the parents are still worried about the money situation. On the other hand, Nikhil’s mom Barkha and grandmom are fawning over some expensive, custom jewelry. The grandmother wants them to display it and Barkha doesn’t. Barkha changes the topic by complimenting her hair and Barkha’s mom says how stylish she is, etc. and once again asks for show the jewelry to everyone. Barkha says she has no time, and her mom says, that Meera can do it. Barkha wants to show Ayesha the jewelry, but the mother gets upset about it.
At Sonbarsa, the friends are getting ready to leave, but Nikhil is no where to be found and his Jeep is also gone. The friends are confused and think there might be a problem.
Precap: the parents are still trying to find money and the father says that they should get a loan by putting the house as collateral (girvi). In another scene, Lajjo says to her mom that she doesn’t want to get married at this cost and with dowry.
