Who will hoist the flag on Independence Day in SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta?

Currently Tappu (Bhavya Gandhi) and Champaklal (Amit Bhatt) are having a fun-filled time in Paris on SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (Neela Telefilms). But they will soon return to their home turf aamchi Mumbai to celebrate the Indian Independence Day.

Tappu will ask Aatmaram Tukaram Bhide (Mandar Chandwadkar), Gokuldham Cooperative Housing Society’s ekmev (one and only) secretary as to how this patriotic day will be celebrated. Bhide will immediately call a meeting in his club house when a huge confusion will brew as to who will hoist the tricolour flag.

Each member will pass on the opus of raising the flag to another. Finally the judicious decision will be made that there will be a singing competition in which everyone is to sing patriotic songs- the winner will do flag hoisting.

When we contacted Mandar, he said, “Independence Day is the time when we remember our freedom fighters and martyrs. We pay our respect to them when we sing patriotic songs and raise the flag in the cooperative housing societies we live in.”
