Jennifer Singh Grover to audition for Farah Khan’s Happy New Year?

There was much buzz about Jennifer being finalized as the main lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan’s upcoming movie, but the news is that she has not even auditioned for it as yet!

Jennifer Singh Grover who has become popular as Kumud in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saraswatichandra on Star Plus, was recently rumoured to have been selected for Farah Khan’s long awaited film Happy New Year! While we could not get through to Jennifer who did not pick up the phone we managed to talk to Farah Khan who has just recuperated and is back on her feet and at work too.

Farah denies that Jennifer has been selected as the heroine opposite Shah Rukh Khan, “While it is a fact that we are still trying to find the right heroine opposite Shah Rukh, it is not true that Jennifer Winget has been chosen for the role. She is not even auditioned for the role, forget being shortlisted or selected for it!” says Farah.

“I know who she is but I have never met her so I don’t know where these rumors are coming from. In fact, I have been getting calls with everyone enquiring about this but it is not true!” However, Farah says that after the news broke, Jennifer has in fact called her office and may now give an audition.
“I just got to know from my casting director that after this news broke out, Jennifer too called them and asked about it and then showed interest in auditioning for the role. Since we are open to everyone, she is most welcome to audition too. My casting department is handling the casting and I don’t look into it directly. Once they shortlist and show me the shortlisted audition, we finalise on one actor and the same will happen in this case too and till then we can’t say anything is finalized!” concludes Farah.

While as said earlier, Jennifer was not available for any comment there has been news around that Saraswatichandra is to go off air and the recent twists and plots in the show was to keep the interest of the viewers growing. However, once this news was out, people seem to have put two and two together to weave a story around the rumor.

Now if Jennifer does indeed go in for an audition and gets selected too, it would be another successful transition for a Television actor trying to make it big in Bollywood.
