Arjun 9th June 2013 Written Episode

A family is sitting down to dinner in a grand mansion.The family head is Pratap Singh, his wife Kalyani, two sons & their families and a widowed daughter in law Sumitra.There is an argument going on over the selling of an antique sword which holds sentimental value for Pratap but his family wants to sell it as they are living a hand to mouth existences & have dwindling
finances.Pratap angrily leaves the table.Kalyani follows him & tries to make him understand the family’s point of view but Pratap asks her to leave him alone.

Next morning Pratap is discovered dead by Kalyani.cause of death seems to be asthma attack of which Pratap was already suffering.Then the antique sword too is seen missing from the room.ETF is called.

The entire ETF is awesomely dressed in jackets as the story is taking place in Panchgani.Initial enquiries are made.Kalyani reveals that her husband was feeling ill since last evening & had called their family doctor Dr Dayal to check him.She also tells him about the missing sword.The grand daughter of the house had some friends over one of whom turns out to be an antiques dealer’s son.He values it at 2 crores & begins insisting he sell it to him.Pratap firmly refuses.

Dr Dayal was the last to be seen with Pratap.Rathore tries calling him but he isn’t taking the call.So he & Shree decide to pay him a visit in his house & they leave.

Arjun orders Aisha & Chotu to check the house.One of the son objects but Arjun firmly shuts him up.

Aish & Chotu discover fresh foot marks in an old store room & a full bottle of Asthma meds.

Sakshi notices a huge locked chest & asks the family about it.The son says its empty & does not know where is the key .Arjun orders Sakshi to break open he lock.She grabs a metal pot, break opens the chest, looks inside, screams in horror & falls into Arjun’s arms & grabs him in fear.He asks her whats inside & she says Dead Body.
Arjun peeks inside to discover the dead body of a lizard.He asks her to take it out & she looks scared.

Aisha arrives there & shows Arjun the full bottle of the meds.The son says he had got it for his father only last evening & given it to him in his room.He doesnt know how it got into the store room.

Rathore enquires at Dr Dayal’s house but he isnt to be found.The servant says he left early in the morning.Rathore tries calling him but no result.Shree traces the mobile phone location & finds it nearby.They reach an accident site.Dr Dayal has been run over by a speeding vehicle.Shree discovers 17 missed calls by Sumitra, the widowed daughter in law.

ETF rush inside the haveli to confront Sumitra.She is found dead on the terrace with head wounds.There is a hollow in one of the walls.Arjun is scrutinising it.He tells Rathore that’s where the sword was hidden.

Arjun notices everyone is present except Muskan the grand daughter.He checks her room but she is missing.He makes the father call her but she cuts the call & throws away the mobile phone.She is running away with her boyfriend the antiques dealer’s son Ankit.The sword is on the back seat of the car.

Arjun suspects her & orders all her friends be rounded up & questioned. They come to know Muskan & Ankit were planning to get married in Ankit’s farmhouse.

ETF raids the farmhouse & Rathore slaps Ankit & questions them.Both admit to stealing the sword but deny murdering anyone. Muskan says she found the sword in the garden & decided to run with Ankit & sell it.Both are taken into custody.

Arjun & Rathore are informed by Lisa on the phone that Pratap died due to carbon monoxide.The wheels of Arjun’s mind churn as he hears this & he remembers a fish tank in Pratap’s room.

Arjun inspects the fish tank & asks some questions to the family members.He specifically asks about charcoal.Arjun’s theory is that charcoal is put in fish tank to get rid of toxins.The charcoal absorbs the toxins which in turn if burns will produce carbon monoxide.This gas happens to be fatal to asthma patient.Someone had burned this charcoal in the room due to which Pratap choked & died.
Rathore looks at the chimeny & thinks the gas should have escaped through it.Arjun leads him to the terrace where the chimney has been blocked by a wooden plank.The gas had no way to escape & in turn spread into the room.Arjun says someone who is good in chemistry has planned this murder.He orders Shree to check each familiy members background.

The whole family & ETF is assembled in the drawing room of the house.Arjun straightaway asks Kalyani what did she do for a living before marrying Pratap.Kalyani looks worried.Arjun tells her she was a teacher & there is no need for him to tell her of which subject.

Kalyani breaks down & admits to murdering Pratap as he was not letting his sons access to the family heirlooms to live comfortably.She has already lost one son as she could not have him treated better for his illness due to lack of funds.She murdered Pratap exactly as Arjun had deduced but Sumitra in collusion with Dr Dayal stole the sword & was planning to elope with him.Kalyani confronts her & in the scuffle Sumitra dies & the sword falls into the garden.Muskan then escapes with the sword.

Rathore gives the closing lecture of the day & Aisha arrests Kalyani.Case closed.ETF walks out.

Precap: A woman is robbed & murdered on a highway.But Arjun begins to suspect her own family members may have something to do with her death.
