Siddhant Karnick all set to play a brave hero in Savdhan India’s telefilm
When you think of a train journey; what you generally expect is gazing at the idyllic scenery from the windows, munching delicious snacks, maybe getting to know your co-passengers and having a restful sleep at night when the train rides swiftly on the wheels.
You may rarely think of a train robbery. It is surely a frightening experience though. In a real life incident, on September 2010, a train on the way to Nepal was ambushed by robbers. Their plan was to rob the passengers of their valuables. They also tried to rape an 18-year-old girl.
Bishnu Shrestha, a retired Gurkha soldier who was travelling on the train came to their rescue. Life OK’s Savdhan India (Saregama India) for their 100th episode is telecasting a two hour special on 2 June 2013, based on this incident. Fictional elements will be woven into this.
Siddhant Karnick, who is best known for his role as Ishaan Singh Ahluwalia in Mahi Way is essaying the role of the brave hero inspired from Bishnu Shrestha. Siddhant said, “I wanted to do a role which would make my father retired Brigadier Mahesh N Karnick proud of me. I did take advice from him for this role on what commando training was like. I had wanted to be in the army too. As a child we would watch the Param Vir Chakra (PVC) on Doordarshan religiously.”
We congratulate the team of Savdhan India in achieving this milestone of a century. This telefilm will be telecast on 2 June 2013.
