I cannot relate to negative characters: Rajendra Chawla

Rajendra Chawla, who is currently seen as Hasmukh Vaishnav in Colors’ Sanskaar- Dharohar Apno Ki, is being booed by the audiences for his negative performance in the show, but interestingly the actor is taking such a feedback in his stride.

The actor is currently seen as an out-and-out negative character who wants to cheat his own family members. Thus, the audiences do not like him much off-screen either. There have been instances where people have come up to this artiste and told him that they hate him and what he is doing to his family (on-screen family) isn’t fair. But, the actor does not mind any such comments. In fact he takes it as an achievement.

“In an industry, where actors get typecast very easily, I have not only taken up a negative role, but have also managed to erase my earlier image (from their minds). I think that is quite an achievement. That is why people come up to me and say things, hence I know I am playing this negative role really well,” avers the actor.

However, playing negative role does not come naturally to him, as he further goes on to add, “I cannot relate to negative characters and if I am playing one I have to justify it which means a lot of hard work from my end. But, all said and done, I am liking my current role.”

Rajendra had last played a negative character in Ghar Ki Laxmi Betiyan.

Keep up the good work, Rajendra!!!
