Excerpts of her interview…

Personal fitness mantra: Because of our shooting schedules, we get up on time. We also wrap up on time. So, I have a fixed sleep schedule. I usually wake up at 6.30 am or 7am. Sometimes I wake up at 5.30 am. At night, I go off to sleep by around 11.30 am. So, I get a proper sleep. Whatever your schedule may be, sleep is something that you shouldn’t miss out. Otherwise, your eyes may go dead because of fatigue. Without a good night’s sleep, I am not able to emote.

Personal diet mantra: I drink lots of water, it helps in detoxification of our body. Besides, I have lots of fruits especially papaya. I love having fruits which have a lot of water in them like water melon. I love berries – strawberries, blackberries and cranberries. They keep the skin really healthy. I never starve and have a balanced diet. I eat well but at intervals.

Exercise routine: I keep climbing the stairs of my set several times in a day. My green room is on the first floor.

Is food the elixir of life? Yes, definitely. Those who love to gorge on food are the happiest people on earth. After all you work to feed your stomach as you have to survive. Foodies are really happy people.

Are you a foodie? Yes, I am definitely a foodie and love to eat. During the day you will find me eating constantly. I like Dal Makhani. In fact, I like all Indian dishes. I also like Mexican and Italian food. The Thai curry is my favourite dish.

Are you a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian? Though I am a non-vegetarian; I don’t eat too much of non-veg food. I eat chicken but the rest of non-veg items don’t really suit my body. I am not a regular non-veg eater. In fact, I started eating non-veg really late. I hardly eat sea food and mutton.

Favourite cuisine: It is the Mexican cuisine as it is spicy and instantly refreshes you.

Favourite dish: My favourite dish comes from my favourite restaurant Alfredos- grilled, stuffed chicken with a lot of mashed potatoes and stir-fried vegetables.

Favourite restaurant: Alfredos is a very comfortable place to go. There isn’t much of pomp and show. You go there to eat, so your concentration is just on eating.

A must on my breakfast table: Milk (soya milk as I am lactose intolerant). You should start your day with lots of protein. It keeps you going all through the day.

Sugar or sugar-free tea/coffee: I can’t live without sugar. In fact, I have a sweet tooth.

Lunch generally consists of: Two chappatis, dal, sabji, dahi and a sweet.

Dinner generally consists of: It is generally light. It is usually a bowl of dal with roti. Sometimes after a hard day’s work, I hardly have the energy to cook. So, I order something from outside.

Dessert delights: I love jalebis, sweets which have fruits in them, fruit custards, ghewar.

One thing I can’t resist: Chole Bhature.

My favourite drink (non-alcoholic): Any kind of juice. I love nimbu pani.

My favourite drink (alcoholic): I don’t like alcohol much but I love Bloody Mary as there is a lot of tomato in it.

At parties I have: A glass of wine or orange juice.

Most unusual dish I’ve tasted: It was beef. Thank goodness, I didn’t taste it though. I stopped just in time.

Experiment with food: Yes, I do, as your taste buds need a lot of variety. You just can’t keep on having the same stuff repeatedly.

On the streets, I love to have: Dahi batata puri and pani puri.

Do you cook? am a good cook. I like making baingan ka bharta the most. Me and my roomie enjoy cooking. It is relaxing. When I taste my cooking, it is enjoyable when the food I make tastes good.

Fitness tip: Keep eating. Don’t starve yourself and skip meals. If you have no appetite it means that there is some problem with your body.
