We got in touch with Veebha Anand on her her play and being a part of television shows…
The gorgeous and talented Veebha Anand who has gained popularity with her debut show Balika Vadhu, where she played the role of Jagya’s elder sister, later went on to do shows like Shree, Sanskaar Laxmi and Kairee – Rishta Khatta Meetha. Veebha who is currently doing theatre is seen in a play Rishton Ka Live Telecast. The play which was launched in the last week of March is receiving good response and her acting is being appreciated by all. We got in touch with the beautiful Veebha to know more about her career plans.
Lets have a look on what she said…
Tell us something about your play Rishton Ka Live Telecast?
It is going superb so far, it is a play which is based on the communication gap between the young generation and their families. It is about how today social networking sites and cell phones comes in between the mother-child relationship. It is a comedy concept with an aim to show the social issues. I play a character named Shruti who is very much an electronic person and is always chatting, is on facebook and whatsaaping. So far there have been 3 shows that we have done and all of them were houseful.
Do you like doing theatre?
Yes I love theatre. I always wanted to do theatre but I was busy with daily soaps. Hence when I got the opportunity I grabbed it and I am glad to be a part of Rishton Ka Live Telecast.
Why did theatre interest you?
Theatre is totally different and opposite to Television. When you act in a play there is no re-take, no glycerine while crying as it has to be natural, wherein when you do a daily soap you are provided with the script and once you go wrong you have another chance to do the same scene properly. Theatre in a way is grooming me as an actor which will be very beneficial for me in my acting career.
How did your journey in television start and how has it been so far?
Balika Vadhu was my first show, and I have struggled a lot to bag that role. I was much happy when I was selected as it was a very good character and a superb show. This show has given me a lot of fame and I am thankful to Sphere Origins to make me a part of such an amazing show on Indian television. Later, I got two shows Shree and Sanskaar Laxmi which came on Zee TV and also Kairi on Colors. My journey so far has been really good and I have got the opportunity to work with very good actors and producers.
What was the reason for quitting Balika Vadhu?
Firstly my character had to take a leap where I would have been shown as a mother of grown up children and secondly it was the same time that I got a lead role in Zee TV’s show Sanskaar Laxmi.
It has been long that the viewers have seen you on television, how soon will they see you back?
Well I have no idea about it, I have been offered many shows but I haven’t taken up anything as in yet. I am waiting for the right opportunity to knock my doors and then I surely make a comeback. Currently, I am enjoying my play Rishton Ka Live Telecast.
What kind of roles do you like enacting? And which is the role which you aspire to play?
I am comfortable in whatever I get as I think an actor should be able to act in whatever role he/she gets. But someday I surely would want to play a character which is similar to me in real life.
If you are offered any reality show, would you like to take it up?
Reality shows are good but I think I am not suitable to be a part of reality shows as I would not be able to add the required spice to the show. But if it is any dance reality show than I would love to take it up. I was offered the reality show Welcome Baazi Mehman Nawazi on Life OK, but some how I couldn’t take it up as I thought I wouldn’t be able to do it.
Now since you are not busy with any daily soap are you being able to give the required time to yourself?
Yes I am very much giving time to myself and completing my studies. I am a student of BA and am in my second year. Earlier I couldn’t pay attention to my studies as much due to shoots but now I have a lot of time and I am taking an advantage of the same. Also I am learning contemporary dance form from Shaimak Davar’s institute of dancing.
If you wouldn’t be an actor, you would be?
My only aspiration in life was to become an actor. If I wouldn’t have become an actor I wouldn’t have been anything else. I just love acting very much and it is my most worthy possession in life.
