Kaisa Ye Ishq…Ajab Sa Risk Hai to air from Monday on Life OK
East is East and West is West, and never the twain shall meet.’
Novelist Rudyard Kipling wrote this sentence which went on to become a popular idiom. In Life OK’s upcoming love saga Kaisa Ye Ishq….Ajab Sa Risk Hai (Producer Manish Goswami), it will be explored as to how the polar opposite Eastern traditions and Western ideologies will gradually and ultimately blend when Simran (Sukirti Kandpal)- the modern, dynamic, independent young NRI lady from Singapore enters as a new bride to the house of her husband Rajveer (Gaurav S Bajaj) who hails from a conservative family in rural Haryana.
Rajveer’s traditional family wants a bride who will be uneducated, wake up at 4am to attend to the household chores, draw water from the well, milk the cows and cook. However, Rajveer who is an MBA wants to marry an educated and liberal lady and therefore marries Simran.
Ajit Thakur, General Manager of Life OK said, “As I often hear that our channel has crime, thriller and mythological shows; I thought of introducing Kaisa Ye Ishq….Ajab Sa Risk Hai which is a blend of comedy and romance. In this serial there will be a mutual exchange of values as the East meets the West. Also fans of our previous channel brand Star One (which later metamorphosed into Life OK) want me to bring back Geet – Hui Sabse Parayi and Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani. This show will bring back the flavour of both the shows. This serial isn’t just about clashes but about how both the cultures can learn from one another.”
The initial episodes of the show were shot in Singapore. Both Sukirti and Rajveer have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Sukirti said, “I can’t drive a car but I learnt how to drive one in Singapore. I would rehearse my scenes in a nice restaurant there.” Rajveer added, “It was great fun doing the outdoor shoots in Singapore. Most of the shoots were outdoor.”
The show will premiere on 22 April 2013, and will be telecast from Monday to Friday at 10 PM on Life OK.
