“It feels good to be back after a break!” Avinash Mukherjee
15 year old child actor Avinash Mukherjee, who became famous as Jagya in “Balika Vadhu”, who has returned to TV as a 24 year guy in “Sanskaar… Dharohar Apnon Ki” talks about how he feels coming back after a break.
Before “Balika Vadhu”, Avinash Mukherjee used to do small roles in TV shows, but Jagya’s character made him famous and he was much loved on screen till the show took a leap.
“I took a break of about a year after ‘Balika Vadhu’. I got some other offers, but that did not work out. I also wanted a gap after ‘Balika…’,” says Avinash.
“I feel it is good I took a break because now there won’t be over lapping of two images. Audience have got enough time to differentiate between both the characters,” added the 15-year-old.
In the new show “Sanskaar… Dharohar Apnon Ki” aired on Colors, he plays a 24-year-old guy.
“The character I am playing is older than me, but that is an actor’s life. I took it up as a challenge and I have to pull it off. I have done a lot of home work to make the 24-year-old character look real” says Avinash.
“My character is very interesting. He has a dual personality. He is very selfish and has shades of grey. I have attended many workshops that helped me to get into the skin of the character.”
Apart from acting, he loves gymming and bodybuilding. However, right now his class 10th exams are keeping him busy. Once exams are over, he will return to the sets of the show.
Meanwhile, he nurtures big Bollywood dreams.
“Bollywood is my dream. That is where I want to be, but only when the time is right. I have not yet decided the role I want to do, but obviously I would prefer playing the lead,” Avinash said and added: “Amitabh Bachchan is my idol. I have seen him. I will meet him when I do a movie with him.”
