Romesh Kalra wins an award for Best Direction for Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai…

It’s a proud moment for Rajan Shahi and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. The reason behind this moment is the award which Romesh Kalra has won for his flawless direction in Star Plus’ popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

We spoke to Rajan Shahi to know about his feeling for the same. An elated Rajan told us, “It’s a proudest moment. After 12 yrs. of directing in the industry, I opened a production house and named it as Director’s Kut Proudction. After sharing a long association Romesh started to direct shows. It’s a pride fact that Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has won 46 awards over the years and this is the first award which we have got for best direction. It’s also an emotional moment for me as it’s always great if a master is known by his student. I had a 15 year old association with him and he has proved to be my right hand when I was setting up the production house.

Today his assistants are directing shows in the company and tomorrow I want his assistants to grow like this and win awards. It all started from Mahesh Bhatt to Ravi Roy then Rajan Shahi to Romesh Kalra and the legacy continues. Ravi Roy assisted Mahesh Bhatt and I assisted Ravi Roy and Romesh assisted me and now he has directors assisting him and this is how the legacy is continuing.”

When asked about the celebrations Rajan laughs and said, “Yes, we always celebrated every winning moment and this time we are looking forward to Romesh for the party. He has to not only bring the award but also has to give us a party.”
