What was the reason behind the leap in Amrit Manthan?
Well, I am very proud of Amrit Manthan. The show is running on the premise of the hatred between two sisters and the Manthan of Amrit is yet to happen. We will see families in which siblings fight with each other. We need to give a new dimension to the show. The interesting part of the leap will be the equation between all the characters which will undergo a change. I believe it is going to keep the viewers hooked to the show.
Amrit Manthan is one of the top shows on Life OK. The USP of Amrit Manthan is primarily the twists and chemistry between the actors and the unexpected tracks that will be seen in the show. The story will be taken to a different dimension altogether. So, after the leap of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, we decided to go ahead with the leap of Amrit Manthan.

Tell us about the twists and turns post the leap in the show?
The upcoming episodes of the show will make the audiences wonder what’s going to be next. There will be a total turn around in the equation of characters which will have new romance, new relationships, new friendship and a lot of chemistry between the actors. Emotions will come to the fore front from now onwards in the show and they are going to be the key change of the show post the leap. The viewers will get to see every character in a new dimension. New twist and turns are definitely going to be there.

We have got to know that both the kids wouldn’t belong to Nimrit. How far is this statement true?
The equation of the kids and to whom the kids belong to is the mystery that the show is going to hold for its viewers post the leap. It will be too early to talk about it right now.

We have also heard that Agam (Navi Bhangu) will be shown dead post leap. What’s going to happen with the character of Yug and Tej (Waseem Mushtaq)?
A lot of new characters are going to enter the show. The team is very charged. Every actor is preparing for his new characterization. They all are working very hard on it.

What was the reason behind giving Adaa a new look post leap?
Not only Adaa, but there are others too who will be seen in a different light. Adaa holds the most challenging role of the show since she is playing a character that people love to hate. She portrays her character with lot of ‘Adaa’ and she has her own style. I am happy that she took up this character and is portraying it very beautifully. She has picked up a very dark role and that’s really outstanding. Now we added new layers to the character of Adaa. A lot of things happen with people in 7 years and the same has happened with Amrit. The entertainment and emotions will be at the fore front of the show.

Is the time slot for Amrit Manthan going to change to accommodate Savitri?
Yes, I too have heard that the time slot is changing. The slot at which Amrit Manthan is going to be placed is yet to be decided. Whatever time slot we will be given, we are looking forward to it and totally prepared for it. I am very proud of Amrit Manthan.

What are your expectations for the TRP of Amrit Manthan post leap?
We put in our hard work and there’s nothing which we can speculate with reference to TRPs. My concentration and effort lies upon working to gain satisfaction at the end of the day and hoping the TRPs to do very well too. The foundation of hard work is our motto. The common goal of the entire team of Amrit Manthan is to give the show their best. The leap is giving us an opportunity to start from the scratch and give all of us passion for the same. The whole team is very charged and excited and all my effort is always directed towards their energy.

There was a buzz that Amrit Manthan is not a very Rajan Shahi kind of a show . Please comment.
I am happy to hear this because in today’s time, it’s very hard for a maker to achieve this kind of identity and have the ability to get tagged by the name of a producer. I believe it is very rare that a maker is getting known by the kind of shows he makes. I am proud of the fact that today we have Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge and Amrit Manthan; different shows produced by the same company. This gives me a high.

Was it easy to convince Ankita Sharma to play the role of a mother when she is quite young for it?
Ankita is a very sensitive and an intelligent actress. She is very excited to play this role. Parul Chauhan and Sara Khan played a mother so beautifully on-screen and right now Hina is also doing it. So in television, I don’t think all these things matter. What matters is the kind of character one plays! Ankita holds a very strong emotional connect with the audience and its going to get stronger with her new character.
