Tough and rude playing cop Arjun aka Shaleen Malhotra, from Star Plus’ Arjun, is a real fitness freak. His perfect body and razor-sharp attitude makes him the suitable cop.
In a candid chat with us, he shares his fitness mantras.
Personal fitness mantra: The only thing I ensure is I work out well at least four times a week and eat right at the right time.
Personal diet mantra: Follow healthy diet plan. Eat every two hours but never overeat.
Exercise routine: Initially, I was into martial arts, but now, I don’t get time do the same. Thus, I make sure to go to the gym. Here, every day, I do a lot of body stretching in the beginning and later do heavy weight lifting.
Is food the elixir of life? Yes, definitely.
Are you a foodie? Yes, big time.
Are you a vegetarian or non-vegetarian? Non-vegetarian.
Favourite cuisine: Mughlai and Indian.
Favourite dish: Mom’s handmade kadhai chawal.
Favourite restaurant: My favourite restaurants are all in Delhi.
A must on my breakfast table: Cornflakes and milk.
Sugar or sugar-free for my tea/coffee: I don’t have sugar in my tea and coffee.
Lunch generally consists of: Chicken and chapatti.
Dinner generally consists of: Salad and Egg white.
Dessert delights: My favourite dessert is gulab jamun, but it’s
been 3 to 4 months I haven’t treated myself with desserts.
One thing I can’t resist: Butter chicken.
My favourite drink (non-alcoholic): Milk.
My favourite drink (alcoholic): Old Monk Rum.
At parties I have: If I am not shooting next day, then I have alcohol with some munching, otherwise nothing.
Most unusual dish I’ve tasted: I had snake at the Andaman Island. It tasted like egg.
Experiment with food: Yes, I like experimenting with food.
On the streets, I love to have: Sev puri and pav bhaji.
Do you cook? My mom says I am the worst cook as I can boil only water.
Fitness tip: Learn how to cook and never starve yourself. Try to keep yourself fit by going to a gym, take to dancing, doing martial arts and aerobics or indulge in sports.
