Suraj, Sandhya and Jigar as Ram, Sita and Laxman in Star Diwali
Star Plus gears up with its Diwali event making the actors portray characters from the mythological series…
The Star Parivar has got another reason to get together and celebrate the festive season. After the grand Dandiya Dhoom, the members of the Star Parivar are ready to celebrate the festival of lights, Diwali with a ‘Nayee Soch.’ The cast of popular shows of the channel will be seen portraying different characters from mythological stories. Popular characters like Suraj, Sandhya from Diya Aur Baati Hum and Jigar from Saath Nibhana Saathiya will be seen portraying Ram, Sita and Lakshman.
We contacted Anas Rashid, who will be seen portraying the character of Ram in the event. He shared, “It was a great experience essaying the character of Ram. I had to fight with Raavan and finally I killed him. It was fun shooting for it. People were treating me as Lord Ram off-set. They would tease me saying ‘humein aashirvaad dijiye’ (laughs). It was a great experience.”
We contacted Deepika Singh aka Sandhya who enacted the role of Sita in the event. She said, “It was a great experience playing the character of Sita. It was fun and challenging as we have to expand this character in a short period of time, in just about 2-3 scenes. I enjoyed a lot and I got myself attached to the character because I didn’t find much difference between the character of Sandhya and Sita. Sandhya is also a fighter just like Sita ji. She never learned to get herself defeated in front of anyone. She kept reiterating to Raavan that Lord Ram will come and he will defeat him. On the other hand, Sandhya who is born and brought up in a small town Pushkar dreams like a girl of 21st century. Her thinking is very high and she wants to move ahead in life. The only difference that I found between Sita and Sandhya is that Sita was a Godess and Sandhya is a common girl. We have tried our best to perform well and we hope that the audiences will like it.”
“It was a wonderful experience playing Laxman. I had played Laxman during my school days when I was in class 6th or 7th and now I got an opportunity to play Laxman once again. It was great fun. I wish I could play Krishna”, shares Vishal Singh aka Jigar, who will be seen playing Laxman.
