Diya Aur Baati Hum 13th October 2012 Written Update

Sandhya walks towards the college gate. Suraj is watching her. She goes little further and then stops and backs out. Suraj comes to her and asks what is she thinking. Sandhya is troubled to answer and tells she wants to go home. Suraj is disappointed.

Meena goes to SurYa room, searches for cupboard keys and finally gets it. She opens Sandhya’s jewel boxes one by one and finds out the new necklace. She tells it is a good design and once she has baby boy, she will get her gift from the same shop. She keeps them and locks the cupboard and keeps the keys in the drawer and while turning sees Sandhya’s parents photo on the wall. She identifies them and has a plan in her mind. She again takes the cupboard keys and comes to Bhabho. She shows it to Bhabho and says she found on the floor. Bhabho identifies it as Sandhya’s cupboard keys and tells Meena to keep it in SurYa room. Meena acts innocent that she cannot go to their room and would accompany Bhabho. Bhabho taunts her for her fake innocence and goes herself. Meena follows Bhabho. Once Bhabho keeps the cupboard keys in the drawer and turns, Meena gets her attention to Sandhya’s parents’ photo. Bhabho sees it and remembers Sandhya’s words during chutki’s function where she speaks about following her parents teachings and Meena is adding oil to Bhabho’s thoughts.

Suraj drops Sandhya near some Sagar sweet shop and watches her reactions from a distance. Sandhya remembering her father’s words that he would buy sweets from Sagar sweet shop, that too her favorite kesar barfi and distribute to whole Pushkar on the day she becomes the IPS officer. Sandhya is disturbed, emotional and tearful. She again remembers her mother’s words that she is a very different mother from others who is imagining how her daughter would look in a police uniform. Sandhya is very much disturbed and Suraj comes there. He asks her whether she is troubled and does she want to tell him anything. Sandhya is unable to say anything, stutters and finally says she just wants to go home and moves towards the scooter. Suraj watching her from behind and thinking that one of the marriage vows was that he would always make Sandhya happy whereas she is running away from her happiness but he would bring back every happiness of hers to her.

SurYa come to the Gandhi Park. Sandhya is again remembering her father’s words related to that place about some people always shedding light to others and all. Sandhya asks Suraj why he brought her there and she wants to return back home as it is too late. Suraj tells her she is looking very troubled and as she had said she likes this place, he thought it would be soothing to her to be there and spend some time. Sandhya moves from there and he holds her hand and makes her sit there. He asks her to relax and suggests playing some game like a word game and starts the game by naming all the words that start from “sa” like Sandhya, saphaltha, sachchai, etc. all the while observing Sandhya’s response. Sandhya tries hard not to say anything but ends up saying “Sapna.” Suraj catches it and says Sapna is a nice word and asks her to tell him about her sapna. Sandhya is reluctant and he asks her to tell him about her sapna regarding marriage, husband, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, etc. and Sandhya interrupts him saying it was not her dream. She is very emotional and says her dream was to become a police officer, to serve the nation, to fight against injustice, and to make her parents feel proud and in the end says, it WAS her dream. Suraj shows her the letter she had written for chutki. Sandhya insists that it WAS her dream and now she has no dream. Suraj tells dreams are meant to be fulfilled and Sandhya says some dreams could only be dreamt and could not be realized in life and her dream is one of such. Suraj asks her how could she say so. He is a very simple halwaii and she taught him to dream big that he would have never thought of in his life, inspired him, supported him all along and made him win and now she is accepting her defeat without even trying. Suraj says it is his responsibility now to support her in realizing her dream and he feels he has been handed over this responsibility by his in-laws.

Precap: Suraj is waking up Sandhya that it is already 7 and they are late. Sandhya is tense as it is Suraj’s grandfather shradhdh, a lot of work and she is so late. Suraj warns her that Bhabho should not get angry for any reason as he wants to talk to Bhabho about her education.
