Who will win ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5’?
The three-month dance journey is set to culminate in a star-studded grand finale, which promises to entertain viewers with some high voltage performances as well as coming together of two big screen divas Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi on the same stage.
The Sunday episode will also see judges Remo D’Souza, Karan Johar and Madhuri, entertaining audiences with their performances.
Actress Isha Sharvani, who had been a consistent performer on the show made it to the finals despite an injured arm, but she dropped out of the finale after she fell at one of her friends’ place and bruised her face.
The show started off, June 16, with 13 contestants including Gurmeet, Isha, Pratyusha Banerjee, Giaa Manek, Talat Aziz, Bharti Singh, Archana Vijaya, Shibani Dandekar, Jayati Bhatia, Darsheel Safary, Sanath Jayasuriya, Sushil Kumar and Ravi Kishan.
Three wild card entries – Karan Wahi, Rashmi Desai and Rithvik Dhanjani – were introduced midway.
While dancers Rithvik and Rashmi garnered appreciation for giving flawless performances, non-dancer Gurmeet also proved his dancing prowess with each performance up till the semifinals. His popularity among the TV viewers for his portyal of Ram in “Ramayana” has made him a hot favourite in terms of votes, but the judges’ decision will matter equally too.
Rashmi says she isn’t nervous about results, but hopes that the hard work she has put in with choreographer Deepak, is paid off.
“There is no nervousness as such.We have work really hard and hope everything goes well in the end. I have always tried to give my best and hope that the judges and audiences enjoy it thoroughly too,” she told us.
“Until now people knew me as an actress, but they now know that I am a dancer too,” she added.
Rithvik calls “Jhalak…” a blessing for him and hopes the best will win.
“I really expect the best man to win, and I really hope I am the best man! My journey has been spectacular. I have gained in terms of popularity, fans, trust and I have become a better dancer for sure. It has been a blessing for me,” Rithvik told us.
“I have performed a great solo number for the finale, and it is one of the smoothest dance performances of my life.
“Rashmi is a fabulous dancer and from the dance point of view, she is a strong contender. In terms of popularity, Gurmeet is tougher competition. I am relatively new to the industry than both of them,” he added.
The finale promises to be a glitzy affair with Bollywood diva Sridevi gracing the finale. The actress along with show’s judge Madhuri will also set the stage on fire as they shake a leg with each other on the show to “Mere haathon Mein Nau Nau choriyan” Sridevi’s popular song from “Chandni” and Madhuri’s “Dhak dhak karne laga” from the film “Beta”.
