Sony TV’s Hongey Judaa Naa Hum loosely inspired from the movie ‘The Vow’?
The much-hyped love story with a difference, Hongey Judaa Naa Hum launches yesterday (10 September 2012) at the 9 pm slot on Sony Entertainment Television. The show will be the comeback vehicle for popular face Aamna Shariff, who made it big in television with Kahiin Toh Hoga years back. And her pairing with Raqesh Vashisth is touted to be the next big hit jodi of television.
So what’s new about this show? Well, we have already reported that this is a unique love story where the lovers go through a memory erase only to forget each other. And as destiny would have it, they meet yet again and fall in love all over again.
An interesting plot, isn’t it? But wait… does the story line strike a bell in your mind? Does it have an uncanny resemblance with some movie?
We give you the answer right here. Have you seen the romantic drama ‘The Vow’ directed by Michael Sucsy in which Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum play a couple wherein the female lead Krickitt suffers brain trauma which erases memories of her ten weeks long wedding to Kim, the man she loves the most.
Cut to Hongey Judaa Naa Hum!! The show will open up with Rohan (Raqesh Vashisth) and Muskaan (Aamna Shariff) being strangers and the story will trace their journey of falling in love. However, viewers will get a shock when it will be revealed that Rohan and Muskaan were already married but have gone through a memory erase. And this is for the second time that they have fallen in love.
Isn’t this a pleasant coincidence, readers? The show produced by Shri Adhikari Brothers will indeed give a new story plot to the viewers, who have been watching their regular dose of saas-bahu sagas on television. But is this what we call ‘creativity’? Where is television headed to? Do we not have a great caliber of writers in Indian Television who can think on their own, without the aid of Bollywood or for the matter of fact, Hollywood story tracks?
Guess… it’s time for the honchos of various television channels to re-think their strategies. For now, let’s get glued to Hongey Judaa Naa Hum from on Sony Entertainment Television as it brings something really different, at least on Indian television.
