Saas Bina Sasural 28th August 2012 Written Update

The naamkaran of baby Toasty happens and the priest tells them that Toasty is the best name for the baby and it is good that they named her Toasty. Smiley keeps watch of Tej as he is uncomfortable and she brings him a pillow to sit against and then when he is standing too close to the fire, she moves him. Tej gets uncomfortable and annoyed and goes off to his room.
Ved is talking with Tej and telling him a funny story about Pitaji from the train station as they were coming back. Tej half-heartedly laughts but he is depressed. He hugs Ved and tells him that so much happened after he and Pitaji left and I missed you both a lot. Ved feels a little awkward as he was trying to avoid sad talks and talki ng about Toasty so he says that Nitika told him that Tej and Smiley danced really well…he becomes serious and says Smiley is a nice girl. Tej flares up a little and says we all are avoiding talking about things that hurt us so please don’t talk about this because talking about this hurts me.

Ved goes back out into the hall and Dadaji tells them that Smiley has agreed to stay a few more days. Sudha ignites the fire again about Tej-Smiley and everyone decides that they have to convince Tej.

Everyone tries emphasizing what a nice girl Smiley is…Malti asks Tej to take her to the doctor for choti Toasty’s injection but then fakes having a chakkar when she leaves and Shobha continues the naatak and says she will take her but malti says no, Smiley will because I trust Smiley the most with all of this..Shobha says but Smiley is leaving soon and Malti says I don’t know what I’ll do when Smiley leaves as you will be leaving soon too and Shobha says you should keep her here forever. Tej doesn’t seem happy. At the shop, Pashu praises Smiley’s food and says I wonder if we will get good food like this again after Smiley leaves. Tej is again upset. At home, Prachin asks for the bike and then pretends like the bike is broken and calls out to Smiley. Tej asks him why he is calling smiley and Prachin says because when we have a mechanic at home, why go out? Tej takes the keys away from Prachin and tells him to take bus then. He says I know what you all are upto and let me just tell you all that nothing as such will happen. He shoves the key back at Prachin and stomps off to his room. He is depressed and remembering everyone trying to convince him to appreciate Smiley and he gets irritated and accidentally knocks a vase over and breaks it. He is about to throw the pieces away when Pitaji comes in.

Pitaji asks, did you break it or did it break? Tej says what is the difference? It is broken and gone. Pitaji says but we can glue it back together and use it again. Tej says the cracks will still show…what’s gone is gone. Pitaji says yes..what’s gone is gone and will never come back again. You know what the good thing about life is…is that it keeps moving…it doesn’t stop for anyone who enters or leaves. Tej asks Pitaji so why did yours stop when Maa passed away? Why didn’t you move on? Pitaji says because I had 5 sons and a father to take care of and I didn’t have a chance to move on. He says a man is incapable of living on his own…before I never used to realize it as much because I was fulfilling the role of a father but now that you all are grown, I feel much more alone. Every man needs a woman in their life whether it be their mom, sister, or wife. At this age, it is not uncommon for a mother not to be around…a sister is settled and busy with her own life and things…and so a life partner becomes very important. You are still young now…you have so much of your life ahead of you…don’t you dream of ever having someone call you “Papa” (TejYa BG music played and I couldn’t stop crying). I had children with me but you don’t have anyone. He tells Tej, I’m telling you all of this not as a father but as a friend because if I say it as a father, I know that you won’t refuse me but I don’t want you to take this decision because everyone else wants this of you and it is not just us who want this to happen but Toasty too. He gives Tej the letter Toasty sent Pitaji and tells him that Toasty sent it before she passed away. Tej starts reading it and Pitaji asks him to think about it one more time with a clear head. Tej is still depressed and in thoughts.

Smiley is in her room (Vedika’s room) lost in thoughts and Nitika comes excitedly and tells her that Tej agreed for the marriage. Smiley isn’t happy or excited because she knows that Tej unwillingly agreed and Nitika explains to her that very few people get the luck to get married to the person that they love and not to worry because after marriage, Tej will love her a lot. Smiley agrees for the marriage as well.

Pitaji asks Dadaji if anyone informed Sudha about Tej agreeing and right then Sudha runs in happily and all excited and congratulates them. She then goes to meet Tej.

Tej is sitting on his bed with his TejYa collage of pics and talking to Toasty. He tells her that she never asked anything of him before and now when she is asking something, she is asking him to do this…to get married again. He tells her if you had asked for my life, I wouldn’t have asked any questions and would have happily died and come to you…how can I get re-married? What do you think? That it’s that easy to replace you? That I can just remove you from my heart and place someone else there? I don’t want to do this marriage.

Sudha overhears him and then says so then don’t get married. She says if you aren’t doing it happily then go and refuse. How would Toasty and everyone be happy if he is going to go through this wedding with this sad frown on your face? But also keep in mind Tej that it is not just a matter of you and Toasty but also of Smiley now. Smiley loves you…despite knowing that you don’t love her and I know that you will never forget Toasty all of your life but I want you to be just as happy with this marriage as you were when you married Toasty. When that poor girl is doing so much for you, can’t you at least try to be a little happy? And that way Toasty will be happy too, She continues to explain to him and Tej slowly understands and says that he will be happy and he will live his life happily for Toasty because that is what she wants. He gives a half-hearted smile.

Pre-cap: Tej and Smiley’s sagai…Tej still looks disturbed. Later on, Sudha is talking to Toasty on her phone in TejYa’s room and informs her about the sagai and hangs up. She looks up to see a shocked Tej standing there. (I really really really hope he heard everything and knows she was talking to Toasty and that it doesn’t become one of those he walked in at the last second and didn’t hear anything scenes >.<)
