Diya Aur Baati Hum 28th August 2012 Written Update

Vikram tells everyone that by Collector’s instructions, DSP had arranged for a felicitation ceremony for Suraj. RK and Meena are shocked by hearing police’s name. Bhabho tells today is a big day for the Rathis. She asks Vikram to go to market and bring as much newspapers as possible so that she can show Suraj’s photo to her friends and relatives.

SurYa room, Sandhya is dressing in front of the mirror. Suraj also combing his hair there. Sandhya says she is very happy about the front page article and the award ceremony today but Suraj is not smiling listening to it. Sandhya asks him why he is not happy and he apologizes to Sandhya saying that the whole family shared his happiness for his achievement but they did not on the day Sandhya had achieved something big like this when she got the third rank and photo was published in the paper. Sandhya says him to forget that as the family situation was different then and today she is very happy for having got Bhabho and Bhabhasa’s care and affection for her. Then, she goes to fix a nail on the wall. While hammering, hits her left hand and drops the hammer. Suraj takes her right hand looking for wound and Sandhya says she hit the other hand. Suraj asks what is she doing and she tells him to close his eyes. Suraj tries to see what she is doing but she warns him not to open his eyes. She fixes the framed article on the wall and shows it to Suraj. She says the wall was gloomy but as soon as WTC winning cook’s photo is placed, has become brighter now. Suraj takes another nail and fixes it on the wall beside his photo. He asks Sandhya to close her eyes. Sandhya too opens her eyes to see what he is doing and he tells her she is cheating. She places the framed Sandhya’s third rank article on the wall. Sandhya sees it and surprised. She wonders how he has treasured this old article cutting. Suraj holds her hands and tells some memorable moments need to be treasured and says “Wo Ai Ni” to her. Chotu comes there then. Seeing them holding hands, he turns to go but Suraj calls him. Chotu then closes his eyes and says he has to go. Meanwhile Sandhya is trying to release her hands but Suraj knowingly or unknowingly does not let her hands go. He asks Chotu to open his eyes and then realizes he is holding Sandhya’s hand and leaves her hand. Chotu then says Bhabho has called him and both Suraj and Chotu leave.

Sandhya just sees another headlines in the newspaper there about terrorist action in Pushkar and has flashbacks of incidents around the bomb accident in which her parents died and gets tearful.

Bhabho is stitching button in Bhabhasa’s kurta and their nok-jhok. Sandhya comes there and Bhabho asks for Chathuri’s phone number. Chotu brings Sandhya’s purse. Sandhya does not find the phone number slip and Bhabho taunts her for being careless. Sandhya is thinking on how the slip is missing.

Chavvi is showing her gifts from Singapore to her friends. They remind her that her supplementary exams start 4 days later and she is least worried about it. She says she will have a high-hand in her marriage and will get everything done by Dilipji. RK brings them tea. He sees the newspaper and reads the headlines regarding that terrorism article.

Bhabho comes there and calls out to everyone as they are getting late. Everyone assemble there and Vikram asks RK to get ready for the function. RK says he will stay in the shop as pappuda wants to attend the function and it is justified as he has been with Suraj for a long time. Suraj praises RK. Chotu comes there telling the government vehicle has arrived.

Felicitation ceremony, DSP honors Suraj, Suraj’s speech. Sandhya is very proud seeing all this.

Meena notices that a police constable is looking towards her. She gets very much scared that he has found out her crime. The constable moves towards her and she moves away from there. Then, Brandon places his hand over her shoulder and she screams. Then, she is relieved it is Brandon. Brandon admires her jewels and sarees and Meena gets uncomfortable and says something like a proverb and goes from there. Brandon is not understanding what she said.

Later, Suraj seess Sandhya and comes to her while some officers congratulate him. Sandhya excitingly says all the officers are congratulating Suraj and he has been showered with wishes, certificates, trophies, everything. Suraj acknowledges it and says one thing is missing. Sandhya asks what and he says everyone have given him something and Sandhya has not yet. She asks what does he want. Suraj looks at her and the episode ends.
