Lakhon Mein Ek 12th August 2012 Written Update

The episode starts with PG giving intro of a mother who became a surrogate mother for her daughter!!!

Bhavna and Mehul, a couple sharing moments considering as Bhavna is pregnant and they to become parents of twins…

Before 10 months –

• Bhavna visits her parents at her home with Mehul… but she seems upset as she has to go thro some taunts of her in-laws for not able to give birth to a child!
• Kalpana, mother of Bhavna ask her to adopt a child. But she is adamant to have a child of their own.
• She faints as she gets emotional talking bout a baby…
• The doctor who comes to check Bhavna’s health as she has fainted, then when said bout the reason behind her BP, the doctor then advises that they can have a child, and then tells them to visit another doctor named Kulkarni (not sure bout the name)!

Bhavna, Mehul and Kalpana, visit Dr.Kulkarni in the hospital. She then advises them to have a surrogate child, which can costs around 10-12 lacs.

• Here, Mehul finds difficulty to arrange for such a huge amount.
• Kalpana then requests her husband to keep their own house on lease… He first gets angry on her decision, later agrees to it.
• But, Bhavna and Mehul are not getting any surrogate mother for a lesser amount…
• Then, Mehul also decides to keep his house on lease. In between, Kalpana was told by Dr.Kulkarni that even she can become a surrogate mother at this age as in foreign countries at an age of 55 woman do give birth to child.
• So, finally Kalpana decides and announces to become a surrogate mother of Bhavna’s child.
• All are shocked including Kalpana’s husband. Bhavna’s in-laws show their annoyance even after Kalpana’s explanations.
• But, Kalpana stands on her decision that she is doing all this for her daughter.
• Dr.Kulkarni informs a worried Bhavna that Kalpana is all healthy to give birth to a baby.
• Kalpana gets pregnant and she is told that she gonna deliver twins.
• Seeing a happy emotional Bhavna for her unborn twins, Bhavna’s Mother-in-law too accepts the surrogate mother decision. She then thanks and apologies to Kalpana for her earlier behavior.
• In between, when Bhavna goes to a shop to purchase ingredients, the shop keeper insults her indirectly for the surrogacy matter.
• At night, Kalpana sees her husband disturbed, she makes him understand her stand as a mother and tells him that she is feeling like giving birth again to Bhavna.
• A pooja is conducted similar to ‘Godh Bharai’, so that Kalpana too can give her blessings to her grand childrens which she is carrying. Some taunts are politely answered by Mehul and his mother. Bhavna seems sad as her father didnt come to give her blessings.
• When Kalpana assures Bhavna on that, Bhavna sees her father there.
• He gives his blessings to the couple. Everyone happy.

Current day –

• While talking to Bhavna on mobile, accidently a scooter hits a heavily pregnant Kalpana and she falls on the road.
• She is taken to the hospital. Everyone arrive there.
• Dr. Kulkarni informs all that there may be complications in delivery, so she asks them to choose either Kalpana or the babies.
• Kalpana’s husband tells the doctor that Kalpana herself wanted that the babies are safely delivered. But Bhavna adamantly asks for Kalpana.
• After a while, everyone informed that Kalpana and twin babies both are safe!!!

Both the families enjoy the babies arrival.

PG then tells us that the story is inspired from a Family in Gujarat.
Kalpana character inspired by ‘Shobana’ and Bhavna’s inspired by Shobana’s daughter ‘Bhavika’.
