DETAILED UPDATE
Courtroom
‘What? 6 months together?’ a shocked Sanchi asks, her quivering voice failing her
The judge snubs her hesitation with an authoritative response ‘It is the norm for a divorce not to be provided unless the couple have completed 6 months together…and even more so in your case’
Sanchi is aghast. Indu looks away in trepidation, as though preparing for the worst!
The judge, on the other hand, does not seem to shy from taking the couple to task ‘You WILL stay together and try to work at fulfilling this relationship’
Bringing his fingers to his forehead, the young man frowns dismally, knowing that following the judge’s orders was going to be no easy task (knowing he’d never be able to get his way with sanchi…ahem ahem…all right my dirty mind is giving this statement of the judge a whole new meaning!!!)
‘If you put up an act of staying together or if you try misleading the court, then you’ll be disrespecting the court’s orders’
Not knowing what to say or how to express their disapproval of the judge’s statement, the hostile pair stay quiet.
‘Remember, we can check on you both at any time to see if you are following the orders of the court or not..if we felt that there was some foul play going on…the 6 month period will lapse and again start from the very day we checked on you…’ (What? Is this taking dramatic license a bit too far?)
Everyone in the court room is disgusted by the latest developments – they’d all expected this to be a pretty much open and shut case. (How would they expect a traditional grandma-like judge to be so pro-INSA? LOL)
‘Despite earnest efforts to give this relationship time to work, if no improvement is noticed…then the court shall rethink its decision about Sanchi’s appeal for a divorce’

Finally mustering his courage, a hesitant Indu speaks up ‘Judge Sahiba…I am not trying to insult the court or you…but how could this be possible…we cannot stay together’
‘Why? You seemed to be all right with the notion of getting married…but fear staying together with your wife?’ (Judge Sahiba, if only you knew the truth about Sanchi…everyone fears her now, Indu inclusive!)
‘It’s not like what you think Judge Sahiba’ the young man continues worriedly ‘I don’t have a place of my own…I live at my mama’s place…how could I support her…I am a student…I don’t earn anything and can’t even support myself…then how am I supposed to support her or a household?’
Listening to his wise argument, both Sadanand and Sanchi nod their head in agreement to Indu’s stance.
‘I understand…give me a moment’ the judge replies. Following a tense pause, she suggests aloud ‘I’ve been informed that Sanchi Mathur’s house is very big…’ (Loool)
Already daunted by the judge’s statements so far, Sanchi becomes even more horrified by the impeding proposal.
‘You can stay at their place’ the judge announces
Indu is immensely displeased, but does not know what else to say.
‘You both are husband and wife. Her parents can take care of their son-in-law for 6 months’
It comes as little surprise that Veena and Tarachand are shocked by the awkward nature of the arrangements being ordered by the judge. Sanchi’s lawyer tries to come up with a brief objection, but is immediately thwarted by the domineering woman!

‘And you Indu Singh…’ the judge addresses him, forcing him to snap out of his engrossed-self ‘You can start looking for a job for yourself…and try to look for a rented place to be able to shift in with your wife… otherwise, if your in-laws have no objection, you can continue staying there after 6 months too’ (I had to burst out laughing at this point)
Indu looks on, his eyes fraught with anxiety. The unhappy girl then turns around to her father for some form of support. Able to bear the embarrassing situation no more, Tarachand stands up to divulge his resentment ‘I object to this Judge Sahiba…I cannot have this man stay under my roof…this decision of your’s is wrong…’
The judge admonishes the father and orders him to sit down, but Tarachand goes on ‘This man has forcefully wed my daughter’
In no mood to listen to the father’s ongoing rebuttals, the judge then threatens him with a ‘contempt of court’ charge and ‘imprisonment’!

Powerless to proceed any further, the father finally resumes his seat. Watching him, the judge smirks at Tarachand’s attitude ‘When the adults harbour such thoughts, what can we expect from the younger generation..instead of leading her on the right path, you’re misguiding your daughter…’
After asking the pair to return to their seats, the judge then decides to conclude her statement and reiterates all that she had just harped on.
Listening to the decree, Indu and Sanchi hurl each other a confounded stare and then look away. As the lady bangs her gavel, the endearing Indu nods his head in defeat and then lets out a deeply vexed sigh. Still trying to come to terms with the bewildering dictate, the dumbfounded Sanchi stares at the judge; the creases on her brow reflecting the distress she was going through.

Alighting from the court steps an irate Indu and Sanchi exchange unfriendly glares and then part ways.
Watching the two parties depart, Radha seeths in wrath ‘Is this lady mad? What nonsensical judgement was that! Couldn’t she have just granted them a divorce?’
Tiwari tries calming her down – stating that 6 months was only a short time and would pass by swiftly
‘No 6 months is a long time’ she argues back ‘If these two manage to discover some form of connection within this period, we should consider ourselves dead and buried’ (wow Radha…just fallen in love with you, I mean your ‘bhavishyavaani!)
Tiwari tries pacifying his dear wife, telling her he’d never let something like that happen.

Mathur’s
Now having the upper hand, Veens shouts and yells aloud at both husband and daughter for having taken the matter to court at all. A silent Sanchi appears guilty, but Tarachand is not ready to yield. He replies stating that he had done no wrong.
‘What? How will we tolerate that man for 6 months in this house?’ the mother asks the determined man ‘Already, people frown upon about Sanchi’s character…now when people come to know that Indu is going to stay with us for 6 months, do you know what society would make of us…after 6 months, when she does get divorced to him, who’ll be ready to wed her again…’
Not knowing how to allay the mother’s fears and apprehensions, Tarachand looks away in disgrace – he knows she was not entirely wrong.
Exhausted by the endless grief the family was going through, Veena falls on the couch, wailing and sobbing. Sanchi makes an earnest attempt to calm her mother down, but Veena is devastated ‘Everything is finished…there is no way out of this…’ the desperate mother pauses for a minute and then turns to her daughter with hope-filled eyes ‘Indu singh will stay here for 6 months and then desert you… instead of that, why don’t you accept him as your husband?’
Sanchi and Mehek are shocked by the mother’s suggestion. However, Tarachand becomes incensed and screams at his wife for what he considered to be a ridiculous notion.
‘What else could we do…’ Veena pleads ‘If we want to live in peace…we need to make a few adjustements…’
‘Your advice seems worse than what the judge has stated!’ Tarachand yells back ‘At least once the 6 months gets over, the judge will pass a verdict in our daughter’s favour, but you seem hell-bent on ruining Sanchi’s life FOREVER!’
Seeing her father’s supportive words, Sanchi breaks her silence too. She once again reminds her mother about all that Indu had subjected them through in the short time they’d known him. With both the father and daughter joining hands in this issue yet again, the mother is forcibly shushed.
‘I know my daughter well… she’ll never let Indu come close to her…’ the proud father concludes with a proclamation ‘This case shall not be taken back!’

Tiwari’s
‘Everything’s gone to dogs now…I’d gone to fulfil my wish of separating from her…and now, I’m cursed to stay WITH her…that too with the help of such an honoured lawyer like you’ Indu fumes sardonically, his temper getting the better of him.
Sadanand attempts to pacify his raging nephew. Just then, Radha steps forth to interrupt her husband with her shrewd plans and asks both men to see the positive outcome of such a statement. She goads Indu that he tried to give their relationship a peaceful end, but nothing worked – then, why not end this relationship with a bang instead. Misleading the gullible young man, the cunning lady provokes him against Sanchi ‘She’s tortured you so much in the last many months…return tenfold of whatever she’s done to you while you stay with her’

On the other hand, Mehek is instigating her friend against Indu too ‘This is the best opportunity for you to get your revenge..’while Sanchi seems to take in all that her friend was spurring her to do, Mehek does not end her tirade ‘Harass him to such an extent that he’ll be frustrated by the end of the day…for all he’s done against you, your parents, against me…this is the time to get back… don’t allow him to live here in peace…’

Ensuring that her words made a lasting impact on the silent ruffian, Radha ensues animatedly ‘Snatch everything away from her..her peace…her happiness…her dreams…everything…make her so helpless that she’s unable to even breathe happily in that house…she should fall at your feet and beg for your mercy…’
Having stared at Radha’s charade with suspicion, Indu proceeds to douse her vicious flames ‘I don’t want anything to do with right or wrong here’ not minding the couple’s suggestions, the noble Indu clarifies himself ‘I don’t want to be with her…I don’t want her to be with me…that’s all’
‘You have to follow the court’s orders…you HAVE to stay with her…’ Tiwari reminds him ‘If not, the court could end up giving some unfavourable verdict 6 months later…and then what!’

Having pondered on the issue and with little go, Indu ultimately decides to sacrifice the civility in him. Letting the beast in him rear its ugly head again, the vindictive young man puts his leg on the table. With the formidable ‘Indu Singh’ music in the backdrop, he leans on his knee and nods his head ‘If this is the case, lets follow the orders…I’ll stay with her…but I’ll live on my conditions, in my style and my way!’ – his bitter eyes reflect the spite he had for Sanchi in his heart.

Outside Tiwari’s
Getting down the steps with a suitcase in his hand, Indu talks into his cellphone, instructing his friends ‘Get me all of my things…just do as I say…’
Just then he bumps into Roop and his mobile phone falls down (Yaaay an INRO meeting to an INSA meeting any day!)
Bending down to pick it for him, the flirtatious girl advices him that he need not do any work when she’s around. Grabbing the phone from her hand, he glares at her in return instead.
‘How mean of you…can’t you even thank me?’ Roop questions him coyly
He is absolutely unmoved. Picking up his suitcase, he is about to walk away when she stops him to tell him something very important.
His curiosity barely piqued, he halts to question her sternly ‘What? What important issue do you have to talk about?’
‘Now that there is none in our way…you can try to think about me…can’t you?’ she starts playing with the end of her dupatta.
Already irritated by everything that had happened that morning, Roop’s romantic proposal was precisely what Indu did NOT want to hear ‘What? What should I think of?’
‘Can we not give the notion of our marriage a thought?’ Roop hints unabashedly ‘You’ll never get anyone like me…not one girl who’d be ready to love you like I do…even if you search forever!’ the absorbed young lady carries on dreamily ‘Give me once chance…and then you’ll forget about everyone else’
In no mood to listen to her propositions, Indu interrupts her ‘Stop stop stop…firstly I don’t have any time to be mesmerized by your ‘beauty” the hounded man explains calmly, albeit the sarcasm in his voice apparent ‘Secondly, the court does not think like you…hence, for the next 6 months I have to stay with Sanchi!’
Making a mockery of her melodrama, Indu ends his reply with a sorry act ‘What to do, I have to follow the orders, so even if its bitter, I’ll go ahead and live with her…what to do…’
Saying so, he returns to his phone. Carrying his suitcase, he makes an abrupt departure from the Tiwaris!

Mathur’s
Meeting up with his friends in the mohalla, he hears them utter their perplexity – should they rejoice or appear distressed by the court’s orders? Well probably even he didn’t know the answer to that.

Eventually approaching the Mathur mansion, Indu depicts another one of his endearing antics – initially offering the Mathur main door it’s due respects, he then proceeds to bang it with ferocity!
An annoyed Sanchi opens the door and the couple have a brief angry-stare session.
‘We’ve come here following the court’s orders’ Indu breaks their silence
‘How could these people stay here…’ she questions him back ‘This is NOT a hotel or a dharamshala where you guys could coop up and make it some form of den…the court has only asked you to stay with me, not your entire brigade…so if anyone makes the mistake of trying to enter my house, I’ll call the police now.’
Tired of her rebuttals but in no mood for an altercation, Indu frowns for a moment and then informs his friends to stay at his uncle’s place for the time-being.

Once the boys leave, Indu picks up his luggage angrily and tells her in a grim tone ‘Now I’m alone…shall I come in…’ not waiting for a reponse from her, he brushes past her and enters the house, while Sanchi shuts the door behind him.
Following this, the son-in-law and Veena ji have a long angry-stare session, leaving Sanchi behind (Lol girls!)

Precap
Reclining on a bed, Indu informs Sanchi, his temper seething ‘As long as I live here, I will live how I want to…I will do what I want to…I challenge you to do anything about it!’
‘Don’t even think of it…if not, I’ll make your life living hell’ she warns him
Annoyed to no end, Indu grits his teeth, throws the pillow from the bed and storms up to her. He screams ‘Ay Dulhan (bride)’
She yells back ‘Ay Dulhe Raja (Groom)’
