Qatil Chehra – Part 1

Scene 1 ‘ Corpse dropped down!

A man arrives at the top floor of a building. He’s wearing a black costume and has covered his hands and face. He drops a dead body covered with a white cloth from the top floor. As soon as the body hits the floor, its uniform exposed that he was a police officer.

Scene 2 ‘ KD and Dr. Ismail Reza

Dr. Ismail is a social worker and KD discusses some related stuff with him. Dr. Ismail talks about fighting for the men who are behind the bars for no reason. He asks KD why he doesn’t take steps to improve the system. KD assures him that the system will be improved soon. Dr. Reza tells KD that he has no hitch with the policemen but due to some of their acts, he has to raise his voice against them.
Inspector Dave arrives with his team and arrests Dr. Reza in the murder of his team member Michael Pinto, the policeman whose corpse was dropped down. Inspector Dave tells KD not to defend Dr. Reza in the court.

Scene 3 ‘ Courtroom

Jaisawal begins exposing how Dr. Reza was upset with the policemen and wrote against them usually. He further reveals that Inspector Pinto and his colleague Jadhav killed a person in their custody and gave an excuse that he tried to run away. Dr. Reza speaks that he has lost his case against them due to lack of proofs. Jaisawal then utters he spoke a lot against Pinto after that incident.
Inspector Jadhav is called in the witness box. He tells the court that Dr. Reza had threatened him and Pinto after they were proved innocent. He had said they will be punished for sure. Saying so, he accuses Dr. Reza.
Dr. Reza clarifies that he had differences with the men but he didn’t kill Pinto. Jaisawal claims that Dr. Reza arrived at Pinto’s house, hit his head with an iron rod and dropped his dead body from the top floor after covering it with a white cloth. He shows the iron rod.
KD asks what was the date and time of murder to which Jaisawal replies that Pinto got killed on 7th between 4:00 ‘ 5:00 PM. Dr. Reza claims he was in his Alibagh farmhouse at that time. Jaisawal screams for any proof except statements of his own relatives. KD tells him he has the proof and shows a recording. Dr. Reza was trying to chat with his colleague via internet and the recording was on his laptop’s webcam.
KD asks Jaisawal to focus on a newspaper, “Afternoon times” placed on Reza’s table. The headlines were of the date of recording that proved Dr. Reza was in Alibagh.

Jaisawal doesn’t believe and claims that the recording is cheat. He shows a recording of Pinto’s security camera. Dr. Reza was clearly visible in that recording, hitting Pinto on his head with the rod. Dr. Reza says he was at his farmhouse and didn’t kill Pinto. Jaisawal asks KD to notice Pinto’s television screen. A match was going on that proved the recording was of 7th.
KD doubts Dr. Reza has a twin brother. Dr. Reza tells KD he has no brother. Jaisawal calls his mother and tells her about Dr. Reza being accused. KD snatches the phone and asks her whether Dr. Reza has a twin brother. She tells KD that Ismail is her single child and requests him to save him.
KD plays the security camera footage along with the webcam footage. At a point he pauses both the videos and asks Dr. Reza which hand does he use to do signatures? Dr. Replies he always uses his right hand. KD raises this point and says that the man in black costume used his left hand to hit Michael Pinto and claims someone has trapped Dr. Reza. Jaisawal tries to object nothing works out. The judge gives his decision and Dr. Reza is free.

Jadhav warns KD and claims he has helped a criminal escape this time.

Scene 4 ‘ KD’s office

Varun tells KD that Dr. Reza has thrown a party and he’s specially invited. KD tells him he isn’t fond of parties and decides to call Dr. Reza himself, to tell him he won’t come. KD calls him and hears Dr. Reza’s singing. He tells Varun that Reza is fond of singing and sings really well.

Scene 5 ‘ Man in black costume, behind Jadhav

The man, who had dropped Pinto, arrives outside a building in his car. He gets out and takes an iron rod in his hands. Inspector Jadhav is talking to someone on phone and the man moves towards him with an iron rod. Jadhav feels someone is behind him and turns around. Before he could understand anything, the man hits him twice and he dies at the spot. The man drops the rod and leaves.

Scene 6 ‘ Dave arrives with his team

Inspector Dave arrives and investigates. A policeman brings a laptop and shows him the footage of building’s security camera. The man reveals his face right in front of the camera and he’s Dr. Reza. He thanks KD and tells him that Jadhav would have been alive if he wouldn’t have been in this world.

Scene 7 ‘ KD watches the footage

KD watches the footage and drops down the remote in anger. He controls his anger and calls Dr. Reza. Dave tells him that he’s missing after the murder and won’t pick his calls. Dave then gives him a book they found in Dr. Reza’s house. He had thanked KD in the first page itself. KD opens the book and reads Dr. Reza’s thank you message for him, written in Urdu language. KD notices the page carefully and concludes that a left hander person has written this. He doubts that a person identical to Reza did this.
A lady from “Dainik Samachar” calls KD and accuses him in a police officer’s murder. This continues and people keep accusing KD on this issue. At night, KD thinks about Dr. Reza’s message and all. Phone rings and he picks it up. The caller was Dr. Reza himself. He calls KD at “Rattan Mill”.

Scene 8 – KD at “Rattan Mills”

KD arrives at the place and calls Dr. Reza. Dr. Reza comes behind him and presses his neck. KD manages to save himself and suddenly spots a knife at Reza’s back. Reza falls down on the floor and KD asks him who did this. He then tries to take out the knife holding it with his handkerchief. A man, who looks exactly similar as Dr. Reza, clicks photographs hiding somewhere. KD manages to take out the knife and photographs are clicked. The sequence of the clicked photos is reversed and it seems as if KD stabbed Dr. Reza with the knife. Dr. Reza tries to utter something and dies.
Dave and his team arrive just after a moment. KD tells him that someone killed Dr. Reza before his arrival. Dave arrests KD in Reza’s murder.
