Scene 1
Kaurwaki comes to Kaling and her chachi tells her that they were preparing for their daughter-in-law to come, we decorated whole palace but his fate had something else. Kaurwaki recalls Ashok fooling Devika and marrying her. She is angry and goes to her room. Dai Maa consoles her but Kaurwaki says that evil Ashok took away our happiness, everyone is sad here because of him and he killed Uma too. I hate him and I am worried about Devika that she married an animal.
Devika tells Ashok that she always wanted to marry a king, I am sure I will be welcomed with so much honour. Ashok says you are wrong, they arrive at Magadh’s palace and they find the door locked. Ashok says I knew of it. Devika says this is my insult.
Helena and Dayana prepare food for Ashok and his wife. Bindusar’s another wife Kimla comes there and likes the food. Dayana says Bindusar is angry with Ashok now, Helena changed his perspection so Bindusar isn’t going to welcome Ashok now. The flashback shows how Dayana told Bindusar that Ashok must have fooled Sushim and won the competition. Helena says Ashok is clever and if we welcome him then it will be an encouragement for him. The flashback ends. Subhandu tells Helena that we have to make sure that Bindusar doesn’t ever accept Ashok. Helena says you are right, Devi must be regretting marrying Ashok now.
Devika tells Ashok that she came with him and its wrong that their palace is not opening their doors for her? you won me in the competition so tell me what you will do for your wife’s honour? Ashok grabs a huge boulder on his own and throws ii inside the palace, he uses his chain to drag it to the door and opens it. He welcomes Devika inside. Dharma arrives there with aarti and welcomes Devika, she says how did my monkey son get a beautiful wife like her? Devika says he is brave and unique. Ashok checks Dharma’s feet and says its all wounded. Devi says where is the king? she asks Ashok why isn’t he respected as a prince? your wife is the king’s wife so why is she barefoot? she shouts where is the king to welcome me? I am this palace’s daughter-in-law. Ashok tells her to stop it but Devika says I am a princess, I am not going to be silent against this injustice. Ashok tries to stop her but his friend Pawan tells him that she is demanding her rights which Dharma should have asked for, she is doing the right thing. Devi shouts that Dharma and Ashok are part of this royal family so they should get respect and honour like others. Ashok tells Pawan that she is right and Dharma isn’t even stopping her. Devi tells Ashok that if he really cares about his mother and wife’s honour then wake up this royal palace and tell them to welcome me. Ashok says they have to wake up and honour us now.
Kaurwaki checks on her father and he is ill. Chachi tells Chacha that she keeps giving him the wrong medicines so he will die soon. Chacha comes there and acts sad.. he tells Kaurwaki that your father is worried about your marriage and Kaling’s safety. Kaurwaki promises to protect Kaling at any cost.
Kaurwaki asks Chacha what should they do for Kaling’s prosperity? Chacha says we don’t have any wealth left, I thought if Bhadrak got married to Devi then everything will be fine but I don’t know anymore. Kaurwaki says we have to do something. Chacha says there is one way but I am not sure. Kaurwaki says just tell me. He says marriage. You will have to marry Padmanabhan to save Kaling.. he was impressed by you and said if you marry him then we will be stronger, I can’t ask you to sacrifice your life to save your father and Kaling.
Ashok jumps up on a pillar and stands on the big bell and rings it to welcome Devi and all soldiers arrive there. Bindusar wakes up too.
