The episode starts with Krishna telling Krishna Vajpayee that she bought Atal’s books and future with the money she got by selling her jewelry. Krishna walks inside the house silently. Atal tells Krishna maa that she is not only her mother, but also her guru. Dadaji taunts Dayal giving him a befitting reply. Krishna maa then walks to her two youngest daughters and asks if they are unhappy that she got books for Atal and didn’t get their slippers and hair bands. They say no. Awadh says Krishna did partiality and didn’t think of other kids, she never thought of his studies similarly when he was of Atal’s age. Krishna offers him money he had asked for and says a mother loves all her children equally.
Atal visits school next day. English medium British puppet teacher stops Atal and shows him rule of book where he can’t enter the class without books. Atal says he didn’t have books yesterday but have now. English medium students say he is lying and check his bag. They find old books and laugh on him. Atal says these books are more precious than new books as his mother sold her earrings and bought them with that money. They continue to laugh on him. Atal says they will not understand it and walk away from there. Teacher says Krishna Vajpayee’s son is too arrogant. Awadh and Sada walk to them and say Atal is telling truth and explain how their mother sacrificed her jewelry for Atal’s books and how kind Atal is, explaining an incident. English medium students stand speechless.
Awadh gets ready to go out in search of job and tells Saraswati that if he gets a job, he will get more respect in this house. Dadaji hears that and asks him to go in search of a job for his better future and not because he wants respect in this house. Awadh takes his blessings and leaves. A revolutionary walks to Dadaji and asks if this is Atal’s house. Dadaji say yes. Revolutionary says revolutionaries are impressed with Atal for opposing Britishers and getting an Indian puppet officer suspended. Tomar stand fuming. Neighbors say he is Tomar saheb who was suspended and laugh on Tomar. Revolutionary gives bouquet to Dadaji and walks away. Neighbors continue to praise Atal and taunt Tomar.
A British officer visits school and meets principal regarding school’s annual day function. Atal asks his teacher why can’t Hindi medium students participate in the function. Teacher says it’s a rule by the school. Principal walks out with British officer briefing him about the function. He introduces Dayal as a loyal English teacher and asks Dayal to read the schedule of function. Dayal starts. British officer stops him and humiliates him saying a cheap Indian can’t read English wearing a dhoti, praises English culture, and pulls away Dayal’s dhoti leaving him deeply humiliated.
Precap: Atal returns Dayal’s dhoti and requests British officer to let Hindi medium students participate in annual day drama competition. Officer agrees and says let him see if they can match English medium students’ standards. Atal tells Krishna that they need to portray their culture via drama.
