Scene 1
Mohini recalls what Mata Rani told her. Shalini sits outside to hear. Shalini can’t hear anything. She loses her hearing. Devi asks Mohini to read her a story. Mohini says I don’t have a book. She says it’s there in the closet. Mohini is shocked. Mohini reads Ramasur’s story and how he ended. Devi smiles. Mohini and Devi come out. Shalini is standing there. She’s scared.

Inspector comes into the house. Mai asks what happened. He says we have a complain against Harphoul and Mohini. They picked this girl and hid her here. Mai says she was lost. Her name is Devi. Inspector says what’s your relationship with her? Mohini says humanity. I brought her here for her protection. She couldn’t find her parents. Inspector says did you file a complaint then? To find her parents. Inspector says she can’t live here. Mohini says no one will touch Devi. Inspector says we can arrest you. Harphoul says don’t you dare to touch my wife. They try to take Devi. Balwant says now Mihini will be behind the bars. Mohini runs after the van. She falls. Devi looks at her. Mohini cries. Harphoul comes there. They come to the police station. Mohini says they’ve to let go of Devi. Harphoul says she’s not our child. Mohini says I will ake her with me. He says that girl is evil. You know she came out of the watermelon. Mohini says I can’t tell you and I will take Devi with me. Devi comes out of the police station. Harphoul is shocked. Mohini hugs her. Inspector says to keep the girl with you. Harphoul is shocked. Balwant asks the inspector how did you let the girl go? Inspector says we don’t have any female staff here. Balwant breaks things.

Mai says thank God Devi is back here. I hope we find her parents soon. Let’s have food. Harphoul says I don’t want to eat. I will have milk. Devi says I drank it all. She makes Harphoul eat. Harphoul eats it. He gets very hungry after eating it. Everyone is shocked. Mohini cooks more roti for him. He keeps eating. Mai is shocked. Devi laughs.
